I am a NEET aspirant and gave my neet exam in this year .unfortunately i could not get to manage a seat in government medical college also this was my first attempt. But i got IIIT kalyani in jee mains I am confused should i take a drop as it was my first attempt or pursue CSE in kalyani ?

Avanishsree VP 28th Jun, 2025

You did your best in NEET, and it’s okay that you didn’t get a government seat this time. Since it was your first try, and if your heart still beats for becoming a doctor, and you’re ready to give one full focused year, then taking a drop is okay — but only if you’re 100% sure you’ll give it your everything, with no regrets. But if you also like coding or tech, then CSE at IIIT Kalyani is a really nice option too. IIITs are good, and CSE can give you a strong career, good placements, and even chances to go abroad or work at top companies. So just sit for a minute, think what excites you more — medicine or computers — and go with the one that makes you feel happy inside. Both paths are great, you just need to pick the one your heart really wants.

i got 16000 rank in jee mains can i fet any nit or iiit or gfti any possibility

Vasundhra 18th Jun, 2025

Dear Candidate ,
With your given rank , your chances of getting CSE in top NITs or IIITs are slim , but you do have a good chance of ECE , Mechanical , or Civil engineering in mid-tier NITs - especially if you have a home -state quota . At IIITs , CSE might be difficult , but ECE or IT branches at newer or tier -2 IIITs ( IIIT Nagpur , Agartala , Manipur ) are possible . In GFTIs , getting CSE or ECE is more realistic , with institutes like BIT Mesra being good options .
Participating in JoSAA counselling and carefully listing choices based on closing ranks and quota benefits will improve your chances .

Can sc candidate get chance with 26588 sc rank in iiit kalyani home state in cyber security computer science 2025

hemanth kumar 15th Jun, 2025

The mark of 189 in NEET is a score that one could hardly have qualified to have a seat in any government medical college in Bengaluru Karnataka. The Bangalore Medical college and research institute is one of the top government colleges and its cut offs have traditionally been far higher, and most times, they end up being above 600 marks.

i got rank 38512 in jee mains in SC catogeroy can i get nit and iiit seats in ap or near ap and my home state is ap

OISHEE BANERJEE 7th Jul, 2025

With a JEE Main SC category rank of 38,512 and your home state being Andhra Pradesh, it’s going to be very difficult to get a seat in NITs or IIITs, especially in core branches like CSE, ECE, or IT.

For NITs, the closing ranks for SC category in most branches are generally much lower than 10,000. Even for less competitive branches and newer NITs, the closing SC ranks usually stay under 20,000 to 25,000. So, at 38,512, you're quite a bit outside the typical range.

For IIITs, it's similar. Most of them close for SC candidates well before 20,000. Branches like CSE and ECE fill up quickly, and your rank likely won't meet those cutoffs.

94 percentile OBC category mein 27thousand rank hai kya IIIT mein cse branch ya ai mein seat milsakti or kaun se round mein milega

Kishan Bhakat 12th Jun, 2025

hi,

With a 94 percentile and 27,000 OBC rank, getting a seat in CSE or AI in top IIITs like IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Bangalore, or IIIT Allahabad will be very difficult because their cutoffs are usually much lower, mostly within 10,000 ranks or even less.

But you still have a fair chance in newer IIITs like IIIT Nagpur, IIIT Bhopal, IIIT Ranchi, IIIT Agartala, and similar institutes. In these colleges, sometimes seats in branches like AI, Data Science, or even CSE remain available in the later rounds.

You will most likely get a seat in the 5th or 6th round or in the CSAB special rounds because many students drop their seats and cutoffs go down in those rounds.

In 99.05 percentile and14621 AIR will get a seat in C.Se branch of IIIT Delhi I

Anushree Thakare 5th Jul, 2025

Hello student,

No, a 99.05 percentile and a rank of 14621 is unlikely to get you a seat in the Computer Science (CSE) branch at IIIT Delhi, especially if you are an outside Delhi candidate.

The cutoff for CSE at IIIT Delhi for General (Outside Delhi) candidates is typically above 99.6 percentile. For Delhi candidates, the cutoff is usually a bit lower, but still above 99 percentile.

Since your rank is 14621, and the cutoff is likely higher than your rank, it's improbable you'll get a seat.

You can check this article to understand the previous year's cutoff trends of IIIT Delhi:
