Hello.

IIIT here stands for International Institute of Information Technology and not Indian Institute of Information Technology like all another IIITs which are government institutions. Old iiitare mhrd funded college and newer one is based on the ppp model. They are government colleges.

You can apply in NITs of North Indian states.You will get that based on your score.Like NIT manipur,NIT Meghalaya,NIT goa,NIT Bhopal,IIIT shibpur etc.

For the percentile you mentioned will be having general rank around 80000. For this rank normally you will not get any NITs, IIITs or any of  GFTIs. But you can get some private colleges.

Congrats on your score but let us assume that 12 lac students appeard in jee this year then as per your percentile your rank will be in between 80k to 99k. So, as per the rank there is less chance to get into top NITs, IIITs (IIT don't consider Jee

Your percentile is very good.As per the previous year cutoffs you have a very good chance of getting admission to CSE higher ranked NITs such as NIT Warangal, NIT Surathkal, NIT Trichy ,etc and IIIT.So,choose the Colleges wisely and all the best.

According to your percentile in jee mains your general rank will be approximately close to 1.2lakh and with this rank you will not able to get good nit at all, you will get nit like nit hamirpur but the chances are low. You can get a no private

As there are many IIIT s which are good than many private colleges and also there are some of the IIIT s which are not good than some of private colleges.

So it will depend upon the college ( both private and IIIT ) that which is better
