Which is better to choose NIT SURATHKAL or IIIT hyderabad ? Actually very confused between the two? Can someone help me out?

ayanmukherjee045 24th Aug, 2021

Dear aspirant,

As per my view if you are planning to take up non core branches then absolutely you should go for iiit Hyderabad rather than nit surathkal but other than non core branches go for nit surathkal.

The placements for iiit Hyderabad at non core branches is equivalentm or evenb greater than some of the IITs . The core placements at nit surathkal is very strong. The average stays between 8-9L per annum.

Hello, could you please tell me about IIITHs admission procedure under the DASA quota for next year (2022-2023 batch)?

Niranjana 19th Jul, 2021

Hello,

The DASA quota is a set of seats at India's best engineering institutions reserved for NRI, PIO, OCI, and foreign national students. The actual number of seats in the DASA quota is 15% of the institute's total seats.

In pre covid situation the eligibility criteria is as follows

Foreign nationals, NRIs, PIOs, and OCIs are all eligible to apply. Candidates must have completed the 12th grade or an exam approved by the Association of Indian Universities. Candidates must have completed 11th and 12th grade math and physics, as well as one of the following subjects: chemistry, biotechnology, biology, or computer science.

Candidates in their last year of secondary school are also eligible to apply. Candidates must have a minimum score of 1800 on the SAT subject test, which covers Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Level 2.

  • DASA  UG course selection can be done in four rounds. Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements will be considered for the first round of allocation. Candidates that participate in Round 1 have the option of accepting or refusing their assigned seat. If candidates accept, the allocated course/institution is created, as well as a temporary allocation letter.

And for this year as covid situation continues the following changes have been made

Due to modifications brought on by COVID-19, the following is only relevant this year: SAT Test results are required for admission; however, the SAT essay portion is not. The candidate must have a SAT score of at least 1070 (out of a maximum of 1600). The college board shall send the exam results immediately to IIITH, and the results should arrive at IIITH on or by July 16th, 2021.

In addition to SAT test scores, the candidate must meet one of the two qualifying requirements listed below: 75 percent (or 7.5 on a ten-point scale) on the combined board exams/results in Math, Physics, and Chemistry. Applicants must submit their 12th grade results by August 2, 2021. SAT Subject Tests in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics  level2 with an overall score of 2200 (out of 2400).

  • Candidates must submit an online application using IIITH Application Portal. On the application portal, applicants must declare their preferences for the programmes listed above. After the application submission date, no changes to preferences will be permitted. When applying, it is recommended that you choose just the programmes that you are interested in participating in if a spot is available in the branch preference list.

The pattern may change for the year 2022-23 if the situation changes.

Hope it helped

Thank you
