Dear Aspirant,
See, IIIT Hyderabad and NIT Calicut the both are the top and renowned institution in the whole India. But according to my assumption, IIIT Hyderabad is slightly better than NIT Calicut in case of its magnificent placement wing.
Basically both the institutions have amazing placement record in last few years and the most important thing is many genuinely eminent and highly-esteemed companies come to both college campuses as mass recruiters. Ok I'm providing the placement details of both the instituions very shortly in this regard:
IIIT HYDERABAD:
According to the previous year's placement details, the highest in-campus package in this institution was of 48 lakhs per annum as well as their average package was 21 lpa . The average placement percentages of all the departments of this institution are quite impressive providing around 95-100% jobs offered by both multinational companies and startups and various top roles like data scientists, administrator, designer, tester, analyser, developer, technician, supporter etc are also offered to the candidates there.
Mass recruiters: Amazon, Google , Accenture, DELL, Flipkart, Microsoft, AMD, Nvidia, Apple, Facebook, JIO, Samsung, C-DOT, Mathworks etc.
You can use the following websites to get the detailed-oriented description regarding the campus-placement of IIIT Hyderabad:

NIT Calicut:
Mass recruiters: Amazon, Microsoft, Ford, Larsen and Toubro, Pepsico, Wipro, Tata Steel, Bajaj, Tata consultancy services, Infosys, Cognizant, Sony, Nokia, Essar etc
Now coming to the main point, the highest salary offered in NIT Calicut is INR 39 lakhs till now and the average salary is 8-9 lakh . And also the average placement percentages in all the departments of this college is almost 85-90% (this information is based on the report of last few years) which is undoubtedly less than IIIT Hyderabad.

To join any IIIT, be it IIIT Hyderabad, a candidate should score score at least 75% (aggregate marks) in class XII (or any equivalent examination). The aggregate marks for reserved categories (SC, ST, PwD, OBC etc) should be at least 65%. If marks are not taken into consideration the candidate must come in the top 20% of the qualifying candidates.

All the best friend!
Hi Shashi,
There is direct admission or BTech lateral entry only if you are a diploma student. This scheme is only for those students who have a diploma background after 10th. They are given admission directly in the second year of engineering for BTech. If you are a diploma student then you can apply for BTech lateral entry.
Else, you will have to answer entrance exams to get in BTech colleges.
For IIIT Hyderabad Lateral entry admission, you will have to answer LEEE which is an entrance test conducted by IIIT Hyderabad for Computer Science and ECE streams,
There is no direct admission process for a science student who has completed his/her 12th, Answering entrance exam is mandatory.
Hi, Hope you are doing well!
Elective are the courses within the discipline of CSE/ECE, and are offered each semester, starting second year. Elective courses provide the students with in-depth knowledge, and students are advised to choose elective courses according to the field of their interest.
There is also other Open Electives courses outside the discipline of CS/ECE, which all students have to complete. These are advanced courses from the broad areas of Engineering, Sciences, and Mathematics. The first two years provide the foundation required for taking these courses
Hey there!
IIIT Hyderabad is one of the best colleges in the nation. You shouldn't miss an opportunity of getting into this college. The infrastructure is amazing , the faculty is top notch and the placements are really good too. So, IIIT Hyderabad would be an ideal choice for anyone looking to get into technical fields.
