what is the jee cutoff to take computer science in IIIT HYDERABAD? I am from OBC.

Ankit Dahiya Student Expert 16th Apr, 2020
Hello,
Admission to B.Tech Courses in IIIT Hyderabad is based on percentile scored in JEE Mains. The college does not have any reservations, all the admissions provided are based on common merit list.
Previous year cutoff for B.Tech CS was
  • 99.958238 percentile. 1st round
  • 99.9187734. 2nd round
  • 99.910198. 3rd round
  • 99.908422. 4th round
  • 99.9084225. 5th round

However it is adviced if ypu have anything over 99.5 percentile, you should definitely fill the form as many studemts get IIT seats and hence leave this seat.

What is level of test conducted by IIIT Hyderabad for MS in ECE. What should I opt for the written test.. maths or ece??

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 9th Apr, 2020

hi,

to get admission in ms 2 years duration course of iiit hyderabad , you need to appear in pgee exam conducts by iiit hyderabad exam authority. syllabus for the test is , you need to choose any of the disciplines between cse or ece or mathematics, however if you have prepared for gate exam and have good grip on the core subjects of ece then you should take ece, see the mathematics questions level will be higher than engineering mathematics since msc passed candidates are also eligible to participate in pgee exam.

hope you may understand.

What will be course duration of MS in ECE in IIIT Hyderabad. What is the placement scenario, do core ece companies come there? I am not interested in Phd after that, so is this course good for me to take??

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 9th Apr, 2020

hi,

see ms courses in iits or iiits are researched base and if you have zest to learn new things and want to work as a researcher them I recommend you to go for ms course. the course duration is flexble, 2-3 years and depends on the completion of thesis. ms course syllabus is different from mtech and students who want to do phd or more higher studies or want to do career in education sector should go for ms course. but if job is your main priority you should go for m.tech since mncs are more interested to hire mtech students rather than MS.
