Medical graduates needs to to get certification from Council  of Education  for Foreign Medical Graduates (CEFMG) medical residency means to practice there as a medical practitioner and for getting internship before their MBBS degree is complete in the third year of MBBS.

Dear Aspirant, for  research internships you need to find your areas of interest and search accordingly. Check  websites of different colleges and universities, there go through faculty page and look for professors having research areas of your interest. In most of the cases professors have their personal websites , where they mention their areas of research , check those. Go through those papers , links and try to contact them through e-mail. Also connect with various people on LinkedIn associated with areas of you interest , you would get some leads :) .Also firstly try to contact professors in your institute.

You usually get selected or accepted for a Research Internship, when youve some experience with any particular Field of Interest, as well as have good grades and atleast a project and relevamt certifications under your resume.

I would advise you spend your first year at Institute developing an Interest in the Subject and try getting a Project under one of your Professors once youre done with your First Year. You may even try to get a Project under some Professors or Labs at IITs, NITs, CSIR and Other Research Institutions. This should be your first step towards your career in research.

Well,there are very few Institutes which offer structured summer intetships to the first year students. And there are a reason for that as you just completed your first year and you might not even have the required eligibility criteria for getting an internship. So just take the vacation time as an opportunity and learn all the things you can so you will be eligible for the desired research internship.

If you still want to get an internship then get in touch with your teachers,ask them personally or mail them. This might help you. So give it a try.

There is no degree restriction to get the internship from DRDO, they just need you to be a citizen of India, age should be between 19 to 28 and scored above 60% in all your previous semester ( student of final year can apply ).
