I have 5 subjects in class 12 ISC and Maths is my optional subject sif i fail in maths will i be declared fail in boards ?

Tanya Gupta 24th Jan, 2024

Hello,

If you've been declared pass in the 12th board exams, even if you failed in an optional subject like Maths, you generally don't need to appear for compartment exams. Since you would have passed in 4 subjects, you will be declared passed but your marksheet will show fail in mathematics which can be a issue if you are planning to pursue further education from top universities.

Hope this helps,

Thank you

Question : If in a $\triangle$ABC, D and E are on the sides AB and AC, such that, DE is parallel to BC and $\frac{AD}{BD}$ = $\frac{3}{5}$. If AC = 4 cm, then AE is:

Option 1: 1.5 cm

Option 2: 2.0 cm

Option 3: 1.8 cm

Option 4: 2.4 cm

Team Careers360 15th Jan, 2024

Correct Answer: 1.5 cm

Solution :
Given: $\frac{AD}{BD}$ = $\frac{3}{5}$
In $\triangle$ABC and $\triangle$DBE,
$\angle$BAC = $\angle$DAE (same angle)
$\angle$ADE = $\angle$ABC (corresponding angles)
$\angle$AED = $\angle$ACB (corresponding angles)
By AAA similarity, $\triangle$ABC ~ $\triangle$ADE
⇒ $\frac{AD}{AB}$ = $\frac{AD}{AD+BD}$ = $\frac{3}{3+5}$ = $\frac{3}{8}$
Now, $\frac{AD}{AB}$ = $\frac{AE}{AC}$
⇒ $\frac{3}{8}$ = $\frac{AE}{4}$ [since AC = 4 cm]
⇒ AE = $\frac{3×4}{8}$ = 1.5 cm
Hence, the correct answer is 1.5 cm.

Hello aspirant,

To be eligible to give JEE MAINS exam, you must have scored 75 percent marks or more in your five subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Maths. If you fulfill this criteria, then only you can give this exam.

There is not any age limited eligibility criteria for JEE MAINS exam.

can I change the board form isc class 11 to cbse class 12 after registration.

Sajal Trivedi 17th Sep, 2023

Hello aspirant,

I hope your academic progress is going well. As for your question, you can switch from the ICSE to the CBSE board after the eleventh grade. Simply get in touch with the institution you want to attend, and they will inform you of the process. You might need to visit the board's regional office and obtain some paperwork as well.

And yes, you should have a valid cause for doing so as well; otherwise, it would be difficult for you to get permission as, as you are probably aware, you should complete your +2 at the same school under the same boar d.

Thank you

Hope this information helps you.
