No, it has not been discontinued by the Institute. It is still possible to upgrade branch in KIIT after the 2nd semester that is end of 1st year but it is done on the basis of CGPA criteria. You have to score more than 8.5 CGPA for the branch

Both are better feel free to choose anyone of them.during placement almost all branch allowed by companies for placement so you get same competition in both. Both of them are IT software related branch so all companies allowed to take part in their placement. So this is no big issue

I would suggest you to go for Gokuraju Rangaraju engineering college for IT, as, the placements here are far better than Ku engg college in CSE.
