what is the passing marks for JEE main paper 1 just pass mark only

sheemaashraf123 11th Nov, 2021

It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS/SC/ST/FEMALES/OBC category is lower than the general category
However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced

But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly

For the college preferences and the courses provided by these colleges and to know which colleges participate in the JOSAA counselling, please go to the below mentioned link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-participating-institutes/amp

how to calculate the rank basing on percentile. any formula . for obc can you please share

Souhrid Sarkar 9th Apr, 2021
Hello,

Percentile can be calculated by :

Total Percentile (TP) = 100 x (No. of candidates appeared from the session with raw score EQUAL TO or LESS than T1 score/ Total No. of candidates appeared in the session)

For example,
Suppose, 10000 candidates will give the exam and one of the candidate secures 5th rank, His/her exam percentile will be calculated as below:

P = 10000-5/10000*100

Hence his/her percentile will be 99.95.

In the same way,you can calculate the All India Quota Rank (OBC in case for you)

Hope it helps
Thank You !!!!

The ranks written in the obc cutoff catagory are obc ranks or genaral ranks?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 13th Mar, 2021

Hi

I am guessing that your question is in regarding with cutoff for engineering college like NITs ,IIITs etc on our page or Josaa's page.

The cutoff rank mentioned on these pages for OBC are OBC category rank and not general/ CRL  rank.

Actually,

only for open or general category the  mentioned cutoff rank is CRL rank but for all the other categories like OBC, SC ,sT ,ews the mentioned cutoff rank is respective category rank

For previous year cut offs of top colleges like NITs, IIITs, GFTIs , you can refer our page at :-
