is it essential to qualify in jee main paper 1 for taking admission in colleges under mht- cet ??

piyushkurwade 30th Oct, 2021

Hi,

There are many institutes which accept the score of JEE MAINS and MHT-CET but that doesn't mean you have qualify the both. If you have valid score in MHTCET then you can take admission on the basis of the score through the counselling. Its not necessary for anyone to qualify JEE MAINS mandatorily.

I am obc ncl and filled obc ncl in jee application form but certificate is of obc creamy layer. will my rank be decided on obc ncl or not?

Atul Singh 8th Sep, 2021

Dear Student,

No matter what you have filled in the application form, they will check your documents first then only they forward your application form for the next round. You may get the chance to sit in the entrance exam but in further process they will either disqualify you or change your category to general.

As there is not much difference between OBC creamy layer and general candidate, and you have written something else and your category is something else so they may transfer you to the teh creamy layer candidate by seeing your document or they may change your category to the the general category.

Good Luck :)

I score 81.47 percentile in jee main paper 1, I belong to SC Category, can i get in NITs?

Ayush Roy 26th Aug, 2021

Hello, Aspirant. You mentioned your percentile and your caste in the question. Based on your percentile, your AIR should lie within the range of 189562 - 213095. As per previous years' data and your rank, there is l ittle to no possibility for you to get chance in any NITs. For the SC Rank, the Common Rank List will be anywhere around 150K-160K , and a Percentile Target of at least 85-86 is required in order to be eligible for NITs.

what is the passing marks for JEE main paper 1 just pass mark only

sheemaashraf123 11th Nov, 2021

It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS/SC/ST/FEMALES/OBC category is lower than the general category
However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced

But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly

For the college preferences and the courses provided by these colleges and to know which colleges participate in the JOSAA counselling, please go to the below mentioned link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-participating-institutes/amp
