Does counseling to IIT and NIT both take place after announcement of JEE advanced or the counseling of NIT take place immediately after announcement of JEE mains result?

Anish Pal 9th Feb, 2022

Hi Reader,

Admissions to both NITs and IITs take place on JOSAA portal after the conclusion of JEE Advanced result. Additionally IITs don't have any spot round since seats get filled completely by Round 6. NITs/IIEST Shibpur/IIITs have an extra round of CSAB after the conclusion of JOSAA counselling.

will this time also aktu college will be provided with jee mains result?

Anurag Khanna 18th Jan, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

Yes now only JEE-Main will be accepted as an entrance examination for admission to engineering courses of AKTU, because since last year the UPSEE has been scrapped and only JEE-Main score is now used for admission.

For JEE-Main 2022 till now there is no any information so at this moment it would be too early to say any exact date about JEE-Main 2022 but to give you an idea, if everything goes normally then we can expect JEE-Main 2022 application to get started by the end of January 2022 but nothing is announced officially yet.

Bhavesh gupta 30th Sep, 2021

Hello aspirant

hope you are doing well and safe. As per your query , I would glad to inform you that   in my opnion if you are getting decent college for B.E then go only for B.E as their are only very different subjects in BE as compared to BTECH . I always say go college over anything as last placement matters only on your skills if you are colleges is inviting big companies

Hope you found this answer informative. Best wishes for your future

nilangemeghna 23rd Sep, 2021

Hello aspirant ,

There are various types of counsellings according to your state to get admission in Top colleges, average colleges and other types of colleges through JEE Mains score or rank....

If your percentile score or rank then you (ex. rank-3000) So you have very high chances to get a seat in Top 10 colleges of India like IITs or NITs.

If you want to get admission in top government colleges with jee mains score, then the biggest and most important counseling is JoSAA.

To get admission in IITs, NITs, IIITs, GFTI colleges, you need to register for JoSAA counseling.

there are 2 ranks mentioned in my jee mains result 2021 one is my general rank and other is my ews rank...!! which one with be considered for the JoSaa councelling... I mean on the basis of which rank will I be alloted a college??

Souvik Dey 21st Sep, 2021
Hello Shruti
First of all JOSAA counseling will be done through All India Rank ( AIR) then after if any student comes under any category then with this category rank counselling will happen.

For example - when you will provide your preference at counselling portal then first your general category rank will be considered, if you get college through this general rank then there will be no use of GEN-EWS rank. But somehow if you don't get any college then with this GEN-EWS rank you may be get college.

Hope this helps you
Good luck :)

if i qualified/not qualified in jee advanced then can i appear for josaa counseling under jee mains result or not ?

Dhqnraj 16th Sep, 2021

Hi

JOSAA counseling regulate and manage the seat allocation process for admission to institutes for total 107 collages which includes 23IITs, 31NITs, 25IIITs and 28GFTIs.

That's why if you have cleared JEE Main then you can appear for JOSAA counseling without thinking of JEE Advance result.

Anurag Khanna 12th Sep, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

After the declaration of JEE-Main 2021 result you have to wait for the result of JEE-Advance 2021 because only after that counselling process will be started by JOSAA through which seats will be allotted to NITs/IIITs/CFTIs/GFTIs.

Complete process for registration for JOSAA Counselling is mentioned below :-

Registration for the counselling on josaa.nic.in

Choice Filling and Locking of Choices.

Mock Seat Allotment

Seat Allotment Result

Payment of Seat Acceptance Fees and Download of Provisional Seat Allotment Letter

Reporting to the Reporting Centres

Confirmation of Admission

Is there any difference between scores & percentile in jee mains result?

Biswadeep Biswas 27th Aug, 2021

Percentile score is not the same as percentage of marks obtained . In this method of scoring the HIGHEST RAW SCORE in each paper (irrespective of the raw scores) will be the 100 Percentile indicating that 100% of candidates have scores equal to or lesserthan the highest scorer/ topper for that session.

Dear sir/madam My JEE (Mains) result is as follows: Percentile 93.425 Rank 58240 Pls guide, how I can secure CS branch in NSUT, DTU, IPU, or JAMIA. REGARDS

Harsha Sinha 26th Sep, 2021

Hi there,

If you belong to general category, then unfortunately you can't get cse at any of the above mentioned colleges.

Not only cse but also getting a seat is difficult too.

With your percentile you can try at some other  colleges like:-

  • BIT meshra
  • Lnmiit
  • Thapar
  • Pec
  • Chandigarh university
  • Bit Sindri etc.

But still getting cse is not that easy in these colleges as well.

You can use our college predictor tool for more college options.
