JAM stands for JOINT ADMISSION TEST for M.Sc.(masters in science) or other PG courses.
therogh this exam you can go for admissions into IITs and IISc that is the Indian Institute of technology and Indian Institute of Science.

As,the candidates should have secured at least 55 per cent marks in aggregate of subjects including languages and subsidiaries of all the years combined. Those however belonging to SC/ST and PwD categories need to secure at least 50 per cent marks in aggregate of the subjects.For more details,visit

i don't know much about other NITs but as per my knowledge NIT Trichy conducts its own entrance exam from Msc (Physics, Computer Science and Chemistry). So, if you clear the exam, you can get a set at NIT Trichy.
