my SC certificate is of 2017 ? is it valid or i habe to get a new one ?? in iit jam admissions .

suchayitaanusaha 14th Apr, 2021

Hello,

Every caste certificate valid till 3 years in any State and for dental it valid only 1 year. So if you are applying for State admission then it's okay. But if you apply for all India counselling then I'll suggest you that you can renew your caste certificate. Or get new one. It's a better option.

All the best.

if a student do not qualify jam with score lower than cut off does he/she stand any chance to get any nit for msc???

anirudha vats 13th Apr, 2021

Hey,

The question I believe is framed wrong and that makes it difficult for me to understand and answer accordingly.

As far as I understand from your question No if you have not clear the cut off of your category in the Jam exam you won't get any NIT or IITs for Msc. Even if you have cleared the cut off still it will depend on your rank and marks .

Proper counselling takes place and the one above you if filled the whole seat you won't get one.

Hope you understand.

Thank you.

can i prepare for iit jam math in 1 month if I doing b.sc biology with no knowledge of math?

pdwords Student Expert 11th Apr, 2021

Hello,

First of all in order to appear for Msc or even for that matter integrated MSc-PhD in Mathematics, it's compulsory to have studies mathematics as a subject for at least two years or four semester in graduation degree, since you have done BSc life science and the combinations didn't have maths, so you're are not eligible for IIT JAM Mathematics Paper, even for Chemistry paper it's compulsory to have studied mathematics at 10+2 level, you can go for Biotechnology paper, and IIT JAM is for admission to prestigious institutes all over India, it  does require immense dedication, efforts, sincerity on the part of the candidate to qualify, and more so because in future either candidates go for academia or research, the demands to be in such career is quite different,

Sharon Rose Student Expert 19th May, 2021

Hello,

You have not mentioned your category. The cut off varies for each category so it is important for us to know the category so that we can be more relevant. Nevertheless, assuming that you belong to general category you do not have chances of getting seat in IIT but here is the list of NITs in which you may get seat in M.Sc Chemistry considering the previous year cut off round 3

  • NIT Jalandhar: 1127
  • NIT, Agartala: 1388
  • NIT, Calicut: 1145
  • NIT, Durgapur: 845
  • NIT, Hamirpur: 1167
  • NIT, Surathkal: 1064

Cut off shall increase or decrease in 2021 depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of exam and total number of seats available etc.

approximately how much rank I have to get in IIT jam physics for 2024 session to get seat in IIT or nits college

NAVNEET PANDEY 6th Apr, 2021

Hello pooja,

The cutoff for IIT in physics is around 20.70-22.70.

But it will be better if you score more than 24.70 as then you will definitely get admission in IIT through JAM.

The cutoff rank for JAM IIT is from 1-69 for general

For OBC it's between 124-272.

For SC/ST is 192-926.

Specifically for IIT Bhuvneshwar the cutoff rank is 272-393 for general.

For more details you can also ask for specific college so that we can help you further.

I hope it helps,

Best of luck

Hello Aspirant,

Congratulations for your result !!!

IISc Bangalore will release the IIT JAM 2021 opening and closing rank for first round on June 16 at jam.iisc.ac.in .

Predicting the exact cut off is difficult as it varies every year

For this year Biotechnology course you can expect the cut off score for OBC-NCL candidates to be around 34.34-36.87

Here,I will be providing you with the last two years opening and closing ranks at which candidates are offered seats in biotech for OBC-NCL Quota :

IIT BOMBAY :

Opening Rank : 17
Closing Rank : 104

IIT ROORKEE :

Opening Rank : 84
Closing Rank : 269

IIT INDORE :

Opening Rank : 250
Closing Rank : 279

So,as per previous year cut off chances are less for you to get a seat in the IITs .

Don't lose hope, definitely your hardwork will pay off.
