in that time is there any exam of iit jam biological sciences or it is replaced by iit jam biotechnology?

Akram Khan 16th Aug, 2020

Hi,

From 2019 the iit jam biological sciences paper has been discontinued. So as of now there is no biological sciences paper included in iit jam exam.

If one opt for iit jam Biotechnology he can apply for following programs at IITs -

  • M.Sc. Biotechnology
  • Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. in Molecular Medical Microbiology
  • M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering

Hope it helps.

i am student of art stream doing ba economics hons (2019-22) after this i want to give entrance exam of jam for economics advice me how i should start my preparation and which books i should prefer

Raja 15th Aug, 2020

IIT JAM is a very reputed exam which can be cracked through disciplined preparation and extensive practise. You will certainly find a lot of website which offer sample papers in this domain. Check this one too: https://university.careers360.com/articles/jam-sample-papers
As economics have been introduced recently in IIT JAM, it would be better to join some coaching or get its study material rather than hunting for books.
Good luck!

what is the benefits for doing m.sc in mathematics at iit through IIT JAM than other university for doing m. Sc. please say mam/sir

ojaswiyolo Student Expert 3rd Aug, 2020

Hey Biswaprakash

Besides the societal advantage and the fact that it will make your parents proud the factual benefits you will get from IIT are a great faculty who will lead to better understanding of the subject with clarity in the topics (which honestly you wont get in most colleges in India), You will be preferred for a job in many MNC companies or even in schools if you want to get appointed as a teacher and besides just forcing you to focus on your grades you will get great opportunities to do extra  curriculum activities   like music, event management, sports, attending various seminars, participating in drama, creative writing, etc.

with the score card of marks 23 in iit jam is there any opportunity of getting any renowned institutions or some scholarship or fellowship?

Shreya Singh Student Expert 2nd Aug, 2020

Hello,

As you have mentioned that you have scored 23 marks in IIT Jam but it would be difficult to tell you exactly about the admission chances as cutoff vary every year depending on the various factors such as difficulty level of the exam, Number of candidates appeared for the exam, Performance of the candidates etc.

However you can check the previous year cutoff to take an Idea about the admission possibilities.

may a mental illness ( schizophrenia) get pwd reservation in iit jam??

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 28th Jul, 2020

hi,

iit jam exam conducts for admission in various msc courses in iits, however there is few reservations is available for reserve category candidates as well as pwd candidate.

for pwd reservation eligibility criteria is  with any category of disability (viz., blindness or low vision, hearing impairment, loco-motor disability, and/or cerebral palsy), benefit will be given to only those who have at least 40% permanent physical impairment with respect to a body part/ system/extremity/ whole body, etc. Such candidates must submit the Certificate of Disability from a Government Medical Board and should be fit to pursue the Program. The disability percentage of candidates selected for admission under PwD category may also be required to be certified by a Medical Board, duly constituted by the Admitting Institute.

however in official brochure there is no mention of schizophrenia. if you qualify the above mention criteria you are eligible to apply.
