At Amritha University, AEEE will go for 70% of seat distribution, while Jee Mains will go for 30%. In order to apply to a college using your jee mains score, you must meet the exam cutoff score. The expected cutoff for this year is around 89 to 90

There is no age limit criteria prescribed for the candidates for appearing in JEE Main examination so you are eligible to apply for gate 2022.
Taking a drop or not is an individual decision I believe that it would be better if you can decide it by yourself
