I don't think this notion is at all valid. The employment region for the Data Science course is quite large and if you wish you can do amazing researches in advanced topics such as Neural Networks, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics etc. So it don't implies that being a BTech in Data Science student, you are approaching any mistake. Apart from this I don't think society is that much aware about the Data Science until and unless they are some what aware about the modern day technology and industries. So don't bother with society and just focus on your interest. If you are interested, just go for it.

You can also go for the BTech CSE specialization in Data Science, this course also have quite a good value in Industry & this course will provide you a broad background in CSE.

If you have retracted the application before the starting of the course, then as per the JOSAA counselling the fees will be refunded to you with a deduction not more than Rs. 1k from the institute. But there are no time periods available about the refund.

JEE Main counselling through JoSAA includes many steps such as registration, choice filling, locking of choices, seat allotment, and payment of seat acceptance fee. JEE Main 2022 counselling will have a total of 7 rounds. See it's not a big issue but it can cause problems as it does not confirm that identity of you and what mentioned on caste certificate is same. To solve this issue you can carry  a self attested affidavit claiming that both the persons are same and just the name are mis spell. You can supported by carrying your parents document which would be helpful to prove that both persons are same considering that your parents name would be same on both the documents. Also you can apply for correction in your SC caste certificate in the regional office.

Do not worry about it as the fee will be definitely refunded. It takes some time to process out everything and the officials will initiate the refunds as soon as they complete the procedure. Generally the fee refund comes after 3-4 weeks of the completion of the counseling procedure . Since the counseling takes place at a large scale therefore there is huge work load but you do not have to worry as they will make the refunds soon.

Any candidate who withdraws from the josaa counseling they are entitled to the refundable fees after the deduction of a small amount,i.e2000/-, and you'll soon get the rest of the fees refunded.

But as far as csab is concerned then there are a lot of criteria in which they decide what the amount for deduction should be. So, after the deduction of a small amount, you'll soon receive your fees.

You may receive the refund in 4-5 working days in both the cases.
