Hi,

The Seat allotment of JOSAA is done after considering JEE Merit and choices filled by Student. Since you have alloted NIT Surathkal, you could still get you higher choices but the chances are very low. Because if you have enough rank then you would have already got your Higher

Hello Harsh,

As per the official guidelines of GATE authority mentioned in the brochure, producing caste/category certificate is mandatory for availing the benefits of the same. So if you have not submitted the OBC-NCL certificate at the timer of your application you will be considered in GEN or OPEN category

My prefrence of nit srinagar CHE was at 49 and this is one which i got alloted during josaa round 1. In my order there is iiit kota cse at 103rd choice is there anyway via which i can go to a lower prefrence choice in josaa. I mean to say from the 49th college i want to go to 103rd choice college.

Hope you are doing well. The seat allotment of JOSAA is done after considering JEE Merit and choices filled by students. So in your case you have filled NIT Srinagar at 49 and IIIT Kota near 100th position. You can get IIIT Kota when you don't have enough rank

For IIT admission in the case of OCI holders, who does the counseling process - is that JoSAA? For NIT admission in the case of OCI holders, do we need to apply through DASA? What is the timeline for these counseling?

As an OCI planning to take admission in an NIT it would be advisable for you to go through the DASA scheme.

I have allocated Mechanical Engineering programme in a NIT in the first round. If I choose the "FLOAT" option and then allocate ECE programme in any institute in the subsequent rounds. Then will I get the chance to choose between ME and ECE, or I must have to go for ECE and ME will be forfeited?
