This will depend on your caste category as well because cutoffs vary for different castes as well.

Below is the cutoff list (PGCET Ranks) for 2017 for MCA course at SJCE, Mysore for different castes:

Congratulations for you rank. According to the previous years cutoff, you have a great chance of getting admission in both the colleges, ie, NIE and SJCE. Cutoffs vary every year due to paper difficulty level, no of students appearing for the exam and counselling and no of seats available in the college for the course. So apply for the counselling. Generally, PES and MS Ramaiah MBA seats fill within 1500 rank. So it's a bit difficult for you to get into this college. You can opt for another colleges in karnataka like-

Dear Animesh, Both are a pretty good option for study CSE and they have their own and most companies are on the campus are mostly same and both give similar package. So I suggest you see your self for campus area and infrastructure so you decide your self which is good for you.

Considering your marks and previous year's statistics, you cannot get any seat in JSS mahavidyapeetha Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore and the national institute of technology, mysore. However, don't lose hope, the couseling process can be really unpredictable at times. Still, kepp searching for alternative options.

Both the colleges are equivalently good as far as academics is concerned with esteemed faculty and good curriculum. But MSRIT involves comparatively more extra-curricular activities than SJCE. Other than that not much differences in other aspects. The campus environment at SJCE is more study focussed however in MSRIT it's a bit chilled out.
