Jute and Fiber Technology
Hey aspirant,
Hope you're doing well!
Biomedical engineering is the application of engineering principles and design concepts to medicine and biology for healthcare purposes. It is of vital importance in production of medical instruments.
Now,the cut off for various colleges which are known for biomedical engg are :-(2019)
hello,
For Bsc (H) Biomedical Science, there are subjects like- anatomy, physiology, metabolism, Immunology, medicinal chemistry, genetics and molecular biology. As such there is no such specialization known as biomedical biotechnology, apart from this there is biomedical engineering, the core subjects in it is designing and enumeration for health benefits. If you want to go for Bsc Biotechnology, the core subjects covered under it are microbiology, biochemistry, food sciences, immunology, genetic engineering, molecular sciences, metabolism and Bio-instrumentation.
Hello,
Biomedical Engineering is an amalgamation of engineering methods with that of medical science, there is extensive study of diagnostic and therapeutic applications, its techniques help a lot those involved in healthcare industry.
Eligibility for BTech Biomedical Engineering is passed 10+2 with science stream from a recognized board.
Eligibility for MTech Biomedical Engineering is passed BTech in relevant discipline from a recognized university, medical graduates too can apply for this.
Entrance exams conducted for this are JEE Main, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, SRMJEE, KITEEE, VITEEE.
Some of the best universities to pursue this course are IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur, Manipal Institute of Technology(Manipal), College of Engineering(Pune), RV College of Engineering, Bangalore to name a few.

Hello
Both biotechnology as well as biomedical engineering overlap to some extent, but are different .Basically, if a student has interest in medicine, then Biomedical Engineering may be a better choice, whereas if the student is more interested in biology and microbiology, in such a cases biotechnology may be opted.
Biotechnology is the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make useful products, or "any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use"
Biomedical engineering is mainly concerned with the facts, theories and models describing biological and clinical phenomena, including other subjects such as physiology, virology, biochemistry, molecular biology and proteomics. It is the most widely applied in development of engineering solutions to both biological and clinical areas.
Hope this helps!
Dear Meera ,
Its a common things happen with mostly every students i shared my personal experience .I'm 2019 pass out from btech in specialization of Information technology . I have 9 back papers in my first year but when i go through the branch related subjects i secured good marks and at the time of final year i had cleared every papers with 7.5 GPA scores .So dont be worry for low scores in your test its not big issue try to solve that issue but change branch is not good decision and now it is might be not possible because he has not good score and at least 8 cgpa is required to change the branch .I formally informed that civil engineering is also not easy branch its very top its including heavy mechanics with mathematics .
So as per my suggest calm down and prepare for exam now onwards and i will definitely he will good scores in 2nd years if he will study with interest .
Hope it will helpful
Thanks
Hello Aspirant,
You should take high school science courses, such as chemistry, physics, and biology. You can also take mathematics, but Biology is more preferred.
Biomedical engineers typically need a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from an accredited program to enter the occupation.
Some top colleges for Biomedical Engineering are enlisted below :-
