How can i become biomedical engineer?

Satyam Singh 15th Aug, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

You’ll need to have a first degree in either physics, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering or mechanical engineering. The degree should be accredited by The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) or the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

Once you have your degree, you can:

  • apply for jobs in the private sector and work your way towards becoming a chartered engineer
  • work as a biomedical engineer in the NHS, by taking a specialist training course called the Scientist Training Programme (STP)

To do an engineering-related degree, you will usually need five GCSEs (A-C) including maths, English and science, plus three A levels. Maths and physics A level are preferred.

Alternatively, level 3 vocational courses in science or engineering may be acceptable for some degrees – check with universities.

This may help.

Happy learning!

is biomedical engineering is a branch of EEE or ECE?if it ,can I do BME as a elective from doing EEE or ECE?

AJAY KUMAR POLAVENI 9th Aug, 2020

Hello there!

B.Tech in Bio-Medical Engineering (B.Tech BME) is an undergraduate course of engineering. Top Institutes offering this course are:

  1. VIT, Vellore
  2. NIT, Rourkela
  3. MIT, Manipal
  4. Chandigarh University
  5. BITS, Hyderabad

I don't think so any such specialization exist because as Electronics and                   Communication Engineering is entirely different branch from Bio Medical               Engineering. So if you want to do B. Tech in Bio-Medical Engineering you               must find a right college for the course. Hope this may help you.

i hope this helps you.

goodluck!

Which course is best biomedical engineering or cardiac card technology based on scope and jobs opportunities?

Shreya Singh Student Expert 3rd Aug, 2020

Hello,

You have mentioned two courses that is bio medical engineering and other one is cardiac card technology. Firstly both the courses are quite different from each other. In bio medical engineering the fresher graduate gets an average salary of 20,000- 30,000 per month. Next the in cardiac card technology you have to work in hospital in OT and have to involve in different operations. Also you have to do an internship to get better job.

Hope this helps.
