It is mentioned in the brochure of KIIT that they need 60 % in 12 class. Bit it is a private college so its counselling procedure is not very strict like jossa or bits pilani. I know few students got admission in this college with 50 % marks

Yes you can easily prepare for GATE exam in KIIT. The level of preparation will decide your rank in this examination. Anybody can prepare for this exam from any college. I will tell you that you should join it , if you want to clear the GATE

Inform them immediately after reaching. Then what decision they will take completely depends on them. Try to reach on time. It is a very good institute. So they must be punctual. And trying to get btech course you must be punctual too.
