Karnataka Common Entrance Test
Hello!
M S Ramaiah University , Bangalore, is one of the reputed private universities in Karnataka. For admission through KCET the cutoff ranks change every year.It depends upon the category, number of seats and number of students applied.
Last year for branches like Computer science and Engineering the cutt off was between 10,000-15000 for General category students and branches like mechanical, civil or ECE their cutt off was between 20,000-40,000.For categories like SC,ST or OBC the cutt offs go much higher.
In case a student gets a seat on the second round KCET counseling And if you not paid the required fee as per the time limit then the seat will be automatically cancelled. Then the seat will be termed as vacant and can be given it to other deserving candidates in the second turn or the open ended turn.
When this happens the student is not usually given the chance to take up the seat again. But in case additional rounds of counseling (such as extended second less competitive round or casual vacancy round are added, the students can enter again only the permission of KEA (Karnataka Examination Authority) to enter or re enter some certain conditions.
One should regularly visit the official KCET site in order to receive any announcement. Failure to pay the fee by deadline is considered as refusal to occupy the allocated seat
In this case you should make an attempt to call KEA helpdesk to find out whether there is any alternative solutions to you. good luck!
KCET 2025 counselling is mainly online, but document verification is done offline at helpline centers. After that, all steps like option entry, seat allotment, and fee payment are done online through the KEA portal. Keep checking the official site for updates.
Hi dear candidate,
Nearly every college/ university provides the hostel facility to it's students and in case they do not, there should be availability of PG facility near by it.
You must check at the respective college/university's website for the confirmation or you may mail them too.

With a practical rank of 14,300 in KCET and your category being 2A OBC + 371J, you do have a fair chance of getting a BSc Agriculture seat in Karnataka under the reserved quota.
Here’s a practical breakdown:
In previous years, students with ranks around 12,000 to 16,000 in practical rank (with reservation) have secured BSc Agri seats in government and government-aided colleges.
The 2A and 371J reservation works strongly in your favor, especially in Hyderabad-Karnataka region colleges (now Kalyana Karnataka).
Seat availability and college preference matter—popular colleges fill fast, but you have a decent chance in regional universities or newer agri colleges.
Your chances are good, especially in:
Colleges located in Bidar, Raichur, or other north Karnataka regions.
Seats under University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur or Dharwad.
Hey Karthik:)
Thanks for reaching out!
With a KCET rank of 7,727 under the 2A reservation category your chances of getting CSE at Dayananda Vidyasagar College Of Engineering (DVCE) are at borderline but possible, especially in later rounds .In the previous year cutoff trends, closing rank for CSE under 2A category was around 7,500 which places you slightly above the past cutoff. So admission in the first shift is unlikely .You may have a chance in 2nd or later rounds depending on seat availability, cut-off movements and dropout cases.
Your rank is close enough to the cutoff to keep DSCE CSE as a hopeful option especially if you're open to later rounds but keep strong backup options ready and stay updated with the councelling process.

All the best!
With 179000 rank in KCET, chances for Computer Science are limited in top colleges. You may get CS or IT in rural/private engineering colleges in Karnataka like:
Rao Bahadur Y. Mahabaleshwarappa Engineering College
SEA College of Engineering
Rajarajeswari College of Engineering (Management quota)
Hii,
With a KCET rank of 79,000, you can still explore a good number of colleges, especially in branches like Civil, Mechanical, Biotechnology, or newer colleges for CSE and ECE.
In Government Colleges getting core branches like CSE/ISE may be tough in top govt colleges at this rank, but you might get branches like:
Civil Engineering,Mechanical Engineering orAgricultural Engineering
Use the official KEA mock seat allotment results and previous year's cutoff ranks to make better decisions. Also, participate in both Round 1 and 2 counseling to increase your chances.

good afternoon. yes, KCET does release a separate rank list for architecture aspirants, but it's not based on KCET exam scores. Instead, your architecture rank is determined by your NATA score (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and qualifying marks in 12th standard.
here's how Architecture Rank Is Calculated
50% weightage from your NATA score
50% weightage from your Class 12 (or equivalent) marks
KCET itself does not conduct a separate architecture entrance te
to Find Your Architecture Rank
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) publishes a separate rank list for B.Arch candidates on its official website: KEA Portal https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea
This list is released after NATA results are declared and verified.
Yep, KEA/KCET does publish a separate rank list for architecture aspirants, but it’s not based on your KCET score. Instead, they calculate an architecture rank using a mix of your NATA score (50%) and your Class 12 marks (50%)—nothing to do with the CET exam. That ranking is then used strictly for B.Arch admissions. So don’t expect your KCET rank to apply if you’re targeting architecture.
