Dear,

The eligibility criteria of KVPY mentions that the students who have enrolled in Class 11 admission with Science subjects during the year 2021-22 are eligible for KVPY SA stream. According to KVPY 2021 eligibility criteria, he/she must have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in maths and science subjects in class 10 exams. I have completed my 12th. Can I give kvpy exam because I am getting into b tech in September or October that too the kvpy exam is held on November.

Anurag Khanna 23rd Aug, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See very first thing I would like to make you clear that you are not going to get any benefit even if your qualify KVPY, this is because the KVPY national scholarship program is only for those candidates who are going to opt for basic sciences courses such as B.Sc., B. Stat, Integrated M.Sc., and M.S in either Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, or Biology. So this scholarship will not be given to you opt for any other course.

Also you will not be eligible for KVPY 2021 because as you have mentioned that you have completed class 12th means now you will go for Bachelor's program and so you should appear for KVPY SB stream but according to the eligibility criteria of KVPY SB stream the candidates should have enrolled in or eligible for the first year of Bachelors degree programme in Basic Science but B.Tech does not comes under Basic science courses.

You can only appear for KVPY if you go for admission to such basic science courses.

For complete details about KVPY kindly check out the link given below :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!
