In CCMT-2020 website, the qualifying degree vs GATE paper mapping shows B.E/B.Tech as the qualifying degree for M.Tech biotechnology/ biomedical engineering at NIT-Rourkela, Durgapur, Surathkal, etc. Will I be able to apply for these NITs with M.Sc(Life Sciences) and GATE-XL score in CCMT-2021?

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 3rd Jun, 2021

hi,

see the qualifying degree would be mentioned by NITS and students who satisfy the qualifications will only eligible for admission. however if it mentioned by particular institute that m.tech biotechnology eligibility criteria is  b. tech only then you may not eligible to apply for those institute. however many  m.sc passed candidates are eligible to apply for m.tech, so you should participate in ccmt counselling with the gate score you have.  you may have to change the stream if none of the nits offers m.tech in biotechnology to m.sc graduates.

What are the disadvantages of studying in Manipal School of Life Sciences, Manipal for B.Sc Biotechnology?

anirudha vats 27th Mar, 2021

Hi,

Well it might not be a proper disadvantage but still the fee structure must be a bit expensive there as compared to government colleges and central universities. But apart from that, the opportunities are enormous there. The lab facilities, library facilities and other things are all great and very productive. Also the faculty is really amazing in what they teach.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

Manipal School of Life Sciences, Manipal vs Manipal School of Life Sciences, Dubai; which is better in all aspects for B.Sc Biotechnology?

ayanmukherjee045 8th Feb, 2021

Dear aspirant,

I would say biotechnology in india has very little scope so considering its opportunities you should go abroad if it is feasible for you as in abroad there are plethora of opportunities available but if you don't want to go abroad you can do your graduation in india in manipal but you have to go abroad for higher studies .
