I got 159/240 marks in today MIT manipal entrance exam. can I get cse at main campus

Disha Devadiga 12th Jun, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

First of all, congratulations on your result!

There are many factors on which the cut-off of MET 2021 will depend. Those are:

  • The difficulty level of MET exam 2021
  • Total number of candidates who appeared in the exam
  • Total number of seats available in the particular institute and program
  • Previous year's MET cutoff trends

The cut-off trends in the last few years for CSE is as follows (final cut-off) :

  • 2020 - 866
  • 2019 - 1819
  • 2018 - 1557
  • 2017 - 1978

Given all this, you stand a fair chance of grabbing a CSE seat at Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal campus.

For further information on the cut-off trends, refer to this link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/met-cutoff

Hope this was useful.

Should there be any other query, please feel free to ask.

Good Luck!

Can a student switch to different branch in 3rd semester of B.Tech at Manipal Institute of Technology?

Variddhi Gupta 7th Jun, 2021

Hi,

A switch to a different branch may be possible only if two criteria are met: The student must have a high CGPA, and that there should be a vacancy in the desired branch. If any of these two criteria are not met, then a switch to a different branch may not be possible.

Would MAHE conduct only 2 rounds of entrance examination or more, as many other universities do?

Variddhi Gupta 7th Jun, 2021

Hi,

No, the first round of entrance examination is already done, and the second one is for those who were deprived of taking the exam the first time. Last year also, MAHE had conducted only one round of entrance examination.

The basic way of conducting entrance examinations at MAHE has been to take two rounds, and take the best score of the two for consideration. But this year and the last, i.e. 2020, due to the pandemic, MAHE has been keeping restricted to only one round.

After the exam, based on the marks a percentile will be created, and students will be ranked accordingly.

which is more expensive Manipal institute of technology or SRM university?

Abhishek Roy 30th May, 2021

MIT Manipal, Manipal University is one of the most expensive Private Universities, though having better infrastructure, faculty, employer outlook besides providing effective technical education being one of the Institute of Eminence. As far as placements are concerned, they are somewhat at par with SRM, with the Batch size of MIT Manipal being much smaller, hence better competition and teacher-student interaction . SRM being located near Technical and Corporate Hubs of Chennai, while Manipal is located near Industrial, Finance and Technical Hubs of Bangalore, both receive fair share of Opportunities and Placements.

between SRM university, Vellore institute of technology and Manipal institute of technology. what are the fees and which have the best placement for electrical engineering?

ayanmukherjee045 29th May, 2021

Dear aspirant,

As far as the three universities mentioned by you are considered ,I don't think there is any different between these three because they are almost equally renowned. Their fee structure is also same almost if we consider the total four year fees. If we consider the ROI factor ,these colleges are really bad at it. As if we are spending 18-20L in course of four years and if we land up in the jobs whose annual CTC are 3-5L per annum. Its of no use. As far as core branches are concerned like civil, electrical, mechanical only bulk hiring companies comes for placements. Rest is upto you which you want to choose.
