I got 87% in CBSE and 96 marks out of 240 in MET can I get CSE in MU Bangalore / Jaipur

kumardurgesh1802 18th May, 2025

Hello there,

With an 87% in CBSE and 96 marks out of 240 in the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) , your chances of securing admission to Computer Science Engineering (CSE) at Manipal University campuses in Bengaluru or Jaipur are limited.

Expected MET Rank for Your Score

Based on the MET 2025 Marks vs Rank analysis, a score of 96 out of 240 typically corresponds to a rank between 11,000 and 13,000 .

Campus-Specific Cutoff Trends

Manipal University Jaipur (MUJ)

  • The 2024 cutoff for CSE at MUJ was approximately 18,377 .

  • The expected cutoff for CSE in 2025 is between 16,000 and 21,000 .

Manipal Institute of Technology, Bengaluru (MIT Bengaluru)

  • The 2024 cutoff for CSE at MIT Bengaluru was around 5,829 .

  • The expected cutoff for CSE in 2025 is between 5,000 and 8,000 .

    Admission Possibilities

  • MUJ : With your rank, admission to CSE is unlikely, as the cutoff is significantly higher.

  • MIT Bengaluru : Admission to CSE is highly competitive, and your rank may not meet the required cutoff.

    Recommendations

  • Explore Other Branches : Consider applying for branches like Information Technology (IT) or Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) , which may have higher cutoffs and better chances of admission.

  • Consider Other Institutions : Look into other reputable institutions with more accessible cutoffs for CSE.

  • Prepare for Next Year : Focus on improving your MET score and Class 12 percentage for better opportunities in subsequent admission cycles.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

i got 93 % in ipe exam and got 122 in Met can i get which branch in Manipal University

Prachi Kumari 17th May, 2025

Hello,

Manipal University admission depends on your MET rank and category cutoff.

With 122 marks in MET, you have a good chance to get a branch like Computer Science, Electronics, or Mechanical.  Exact branch depends on seat availability and competition that year.

Usually, higher MET marks get preferred branches like CSE or ECE. To know the exact branch, check the official counselling or cutoffs on Manipal University website after results.

Hope it helps !

Can I get a seat in Manipal university? I have scored 398 in Neet mds2025 and I belong to SC category, like how much will be the cost for govt seats and management seat here?

gopi 16th May, 2025

Hi Trisha,

With a NEET MDS 2025 score of 398, in SC category, you are above the normal qualifying cutoff and eligible for admission to Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS), Manipal. Admission to a Government seat will be difficult because supply and demand can be limited and competition could still be highly sought after specialties such as Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery even with qualifying cutoff. It is expected to have an excellent chance for Admission by way of Management Quota seats. Management Quota seats, however, have higher fees are usually more liberal in regards to acceptance, admission requirements and use of NEET Scores. The fee for management seats is based on topics. It can vary greatly from roughly around 26 Lakh to 58 Lakh for the entire course. The entry fee for Government seat can be much less and considerably less competitive. It is a good idea to check the official college website for the most accurate and up to date rules regarding fees and admission. In conclusion, you are eligible based on marks, but decision related to fees and number of available seats under different quotas will affect your admission.

Taking ECE or ECM at MANIPAL UNIVERSITY BANGALORE is a good option or not?

Rajeswari Dey 9th May, 2025

Hi aspirant,

Choosing either ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) or ECM (Electronics and Computer Engineering) at Manipal University Bangalore can be a wise decision because both subjects have great growth potential and the university has a good reputation , particularly in engineering.

  1. ECE usually concentrates on core electronics, communication systems, and signal processing.
  2. ECM is a more interdisciplinary field that combines electronics with computer science ideas, including embedded systems and Iot.

Your pick should be based on your personal interests and career ambitions.

Consider which field best matches your interests and the types of roles you envisage for yourself in the future. Checking the most recent placement data for both departments at the Bangalore campus could potentially provide useful information.

All the best!

what is my annual fee in manipal university if i score 85 percentile in manipal entrance test

Tanisha chaudhary 7th May, 2025

HEY THERE!!

If you are 85 percentile in the Manipal Entrance Test (MET), your yearly fee at Manipal University for B.Tech/B.E. (including Computer Science and allied branches) will fall in the general fee category, since scholarships are generally given to students with extremely high percentiles (typically 90th percentile and above).

Yearly Fee Structure for B.Tech at Manipal University (2025):

  1. Tuition Fee (per annum): INR 8,12,000 to INR 13,97,000 (branch-wise and year-wise variation).
  2. One-Time Fee (Caution Deposit): INR 10,000 (one-time at admission).
  3. Hostel Fee (if applicable): INR 51,000 to INR 4,31,500 annually, based on accommodation type.
  4. Total Estimated Annual Academic Fee: INR 8.1 lakh to INR 14 lakh (without hostel/mess).

Note:

  • You are unlikely to be eligible for significant tuition fee waivers or scholarships at 85 percentile since these are usually held for top MET scorers.
  • The precise fee will vary based on your selected branch and whether the category (General/Scholar/NRI) applies.

Overall:

With a score of 85 percentile in MET, pay the regular first-year tuition price of INR 8.1 lakh to INR 14 lakh per year for B.Tech at Manipal University, along with hostel and other expenses if you have them
