Any institute to have department of Marine Engineering it should be at the sea shore.Hence you cannot find any college in surroundings of Banglore.

dear student.,

you have two options:

1. They can take admission in first year as the normal rule and regulation for intermediate students.
2. They can also take admission in second year of marine engineering course via Lateral entry scheme depending on the seat availability in college.

The second method depend on the vacancy of seat which were not filled in the first year of admission. The process of admission is more easy in the second case as number of applicant are less and usually seats are available ( in govt. college).

See, Every Engineering course has MATHEMATICS in atleast first two semesters since it is a compulsion by AICTE.

For lateral entry in Marine Engineering the below is the eligiblity:

 Diploma course in Mechanical/ Marine/ Electrical Engineering from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education, should have passed with minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of Diploma course.

So friend you are eligible.

As per rank and category, you will definitely get a seat in Marine Engineering. The cut off rank for CUSAT is around 1000 and you are way ahead of that.
