I m doing good in account and statistics then What should i choose Mba in finance or Mba in marketing??? And i m thinking to do Mba from Lpu is it good?

Mohit Gupta 19th Jul, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

It's good to know that you are looking for MBA.

If we talk about MBA specialisation, than anyone person from any field can choose any specialisation as in MBA, everything is taught from basics. For example many engineering students took finance specialisation and finance will be totally unknown for them so they are taught from basics ,same with other specialisation too.

If you are good in Statistics and Finance, you may choose the specialisation called Big data analytics/Data analytics and also Finance, as Big data analytics is the future and it have a huge potential and better salary offering from other specialisation.

If we talk about doing MBA from LPU then you can definitely think about that as it's one of the best University in India according to NIRF ranking. Also MBA is their flagship program which is considered to be good.

To know more about the admission process, cut-offs, entrance exams related to get admission in LPU, you may visit following link:-

MNCs companies eligibilty criteria is atleast 60%. so would I get a on-campus placement in MNCs. If not then wht 2 do?

Disha Arora 15th Jul, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

What companies will look for is your progression both in terms of your career choices and marks attained. So do not worry about your 10th standard marks.

You have decided to pursue an MBA degree in marketing rather than finance and this is question that can be posed to you in an interview.  After your MBA program they will certainly test your flair for marketing and that will be a deciding factor.  Marketing is different from Sales. A one line definition of Marketing is that it creates/acquires products while Sales sells those products that was created or acquired. If this makes you uncertain play to your strength and do an MBA Finance.

Good Luck

i got 46.38%ile mh cet. i want to take admission in mba in digital marketing / international business / Marketing. which colleges do i try?

bandita agasti 21st Aug, 2020
Hello Raj

Hope you are safe and healthy!!!

As mentioned by you that your entrance exam score is very low i.e below 50%. I will suggest you to appear for MAT once as it is easy to score . Also college will see your 10th,12th and Graduation score. There will be weightage of the GD/PI as well. You can try tier 3 colleges for your MBA. If you perform well in the interview there is a chance of getting admission in a tier 3 college. For taking admission in a good B-School , requirement of score in 10th,12th and Graduation is throughout 50% . If you have this much score you can apply . Advantage of having good score in entrance exam is that you can avail scholarship offered by the college on the basis of that score and also minimum 50% in entrance exam comes under admission criteria of a good B-School.

Hope I have answered your query.

For further query comment on the answer.

Thankyou!!!

I want to take HR as my major specialization, whether i should take finance as minor as it includes salries and taxation topics or marketing as it includes digital marketing, both the topics i.e. salries and digital marketing are of equal importance in HR. which subject should i choose as my minor ?

VAISHALI BHARDWAJ 8th Jul, 2020
Hello Ankita, hope you are doing well.

Both Finance and marketing have equal value in HR. But I suggest you to choose Finance as Minor because Marketing is something that comes from your experience and finance is something which comes from practice and knowledge.

In marketing you can earn experience from job because when you will explore market then only you will get to know about it.

In Finance you have to gain more and more know and study all the financial aspects which comes from academics as well as from practice.

Hope this will help you to choose your desire course.

what is the difference between a general bba program and bba in marketing (or in some subject specialization) . which one is more better?

S. Saha Student Expert 27th Jun, 2020
General BBA and BBA with specialization is more or less same. There is nothing big difference between them. The first year of these courses, same topics are taught. Second year onwards, the change in topics is started. Means, in BBA with specialization, the topics related to the specialized course are taught. If you have taken specialization in Marketing, then your course chapters will be related to them. In Specialized BBA, depth knowledge of subject is given while general BBA gives an overview of all subjects.
Both the courses are good and have their own scope. Now if you are aiming for pursuing MBA in the same specialization, then you can do BBA with specialization in the same topic. This will give you more clear view of that specialization.
