Im from middle class family and wanted to go to MIT US or Harvard for b tech cs so what is the way to get into it other than SAT

Cristiano Ashim 8th Apr, 2018
Even if there was a way, and there is not. You'd want to score as much as you can in SAT and TOEFL. This improves your chances of getting a scholarship, which is necessary for us coming from middle class backgrounds.

So if you really have thought of going abroad for your UG, then prepare for SAT.

Thanks for give me the answer and I am satisfied .now can anyone tell me am I join us university like Purdue ,UIUC, Massachusetts universi

Shivani Bhatt 25th Jan, 2018

Hi Souvik,

You are in your 10th, I suggest keep doing well in studies and keep yourself interested in a complete development, sports, studies, social work etc.

For a Masters in Computer Science, I suggest study well and do a Btech in Computer science from a top institute in India. After that, gain a couple of years experience in the field as a Btech with experience counts a lot towards a Mtech/ Masters.

For a Masters program, currently, you have to appear for a GRE exam and an English proficiency test like IELTS, TOEFL. You then apply to the universities of your choice with those scores.

DO revert if you need more information.

Best wishes,

Is transfer from VIT to MIT(USA ) Is possible? If yes then what is the procedure.

Shivani Bhatt 16th Jan, 2018

Dear Akshay,

Yes, technically it is possible for students to transfer from India to university in USA. The procedure is not as simple.

Due to the credit system provided certain criteria are met.

  • The university has to be approved by Indian authority
  • The student should be in the first year
  • Prospective students should start application process at least 1 year before the date they want to admit themselves at the US university
  • Along with the mandatory application requirements, like the application fee, transcript and letters of reference, transfer students may be asked to submit a transfer application form and/or supplemental information.
  • MOst aspirants may not be required to send their SAT scores but that depends on the individual university.
  • The student should have completed the mandatory credits in the first institution.

For more information, please visit the link Transferring to a U.S. university .

All the best.
