Which is better in n.i.t jamshedpur mechanical or electrical & electronics engineering streams

Dimpy Sharma 15th May, 2019

Hi Aryan

- Mechanical engineering- in NITs Jamshedpur, placements for Mechanical Engineering excellent. Reputed companies like cognizant , Amazon, Aditya Birla etc visit for placement.

Faculties are helpful and teachers are knowledgeable but teaching methods are just okay.

- Electrical and Electronic engineering: this branch also has excellent placement record. Most of the students get internship offers in reputed companies.

Deserving students get placed.

Quality of faculty members vary , some teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable , some are lazy and rude.

Both EEE and Mechanical are career oriented branches and nit Jamshedpur provides good placements for deserving students .

So, choose your branch on the basis of your potential , skills and abilities .

Placement cell provides proper training and is really helpful.

How many minium percentile required for admission in nit rourkela for computer engineering or electronics engineering?

Satyam Student Expert 13th Jun, 2019

I see that you want to do BTech from CSE or EEE in NIT Rourkela. It's a good choice.

But now everything depends on your rank how much rank you get. And are you eligible or not. You must have specified your category and whether you are hs or os.

I will take that you are general category and os.  Previous year closing rank in round 7 for CSE was around 3600 and that for EEE was around 9000.  So see this rank. If you are under this rank then you will get a seat in NIT Rourkela. If not , then try for other colleges or change your branch.

Hope it helps.

Thank you.

Hello, Im pursuing my UG course in Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Im interested in pursuing higher studies but im unable to...

Arnab Ghosh 5th Apr, 2019
Hi Valu,
As you mentioned for GRE, so go for it. It is most prestigious exam for BTECH students.
Also yes definitely you will get your stream as well. & when it comes to abroad, you will get more opportunities & exposure.
So, if you can able to go abroad, so please go abroad. & do internships.
& when it comes to choosing university, first you score well in GRE, then you will have lots of time to think.
I will recommend you to go for CANADA or USA. Because, in that countries specially in USA, lots of Top companies headquarters are their & you will get a great kick in career from the beginning.
Hope you get it.
Best of luck for your future.
