Hey,
It entirely depends upon your calling. See,to be able to study engineering from IIT BHU(Banaras Hindu University) is a matter of immense pride for it is one of the best in India. Having said that, the placements to large extent depends on your stream. Branches like Computer Science and Electrical would anyday experience better placements. But, no need to to think always negative. See,if you work hard and work on building your curriculum vitae through the course of your study, you are likely to get placed with a good company. And the pay is intially low at every place. The pay, would eventually increase with time.
Talk to your family and your professors, they will help you better.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
