There are some deemed to be universities which do not require maths to be a compulsory subject in order to take admission in Btech Biotenchnology and they are as follows :-
1. Vellore Institute of technology Vellore
2. SRM Chennai
3. BITS Pillani
4. Manipal Institute of Technology.

As per the subject it would be beneficial for you to take maths as 3rd subject. But if you had PCB and you still you want to pursue it you could absolutely do so as many students opt for biomedical engineering though they had PCB just that they have
Yes the sectional cutoff is for both papers. For both the maths paper it will have the sectional cutoff 20. So you have to get 20+ to clear the sectional cutoff in maths or physics or chemistry as per there sectional cutoff according to previous year cutoffs.

The theory paper for class 12 exam will be of 60,70,80 or 100 marks. the practical examination will be of 20,30 or 40 marks. Passing Marks Criteria:
As per the CBSE circular, students of class 12 who secured 33% marks in both theory and practical separately are treated
In CBSE Class 12 Board exams, students must secure 33 per cent marks in theory and practical exams separately. This is the minimum passing marks in cbse class 12.
So in theory minimum marks required for passing is 23. And in practical minimum marks required is 6.
