How much score do I need as other backward class student to get an mbbs college

Prachi Kumari 30th Nov, 2025

Hello,

For an OBC student, the marks needed for an MBBS seat depend on the state and type of college. But you can keep these general ranges in mind:

  • The qualifying marks for OBC usually stay around 113–143 . This only makes you eligible for counselling.

  • For a government MBBS seat , you normally need around 550–600+ marks . In some states with high competition, the cut-off can be even higher.

  • For private medical colleges , the required score is usually lower than government colleges, but it still depends on the college and the state.

Hope it helps !

What and how? ..Can anyone please provide the authentic data.. cutoff rank, fees, and how is the journey of MBBS passout to get admission in MS opthalmology in Delhi?

AKKSHEETHA M 30th Nov, 2025

Hello,
To get authentic data like cutoff rank, fees, and details about a college or course, it is best to refer to the official records of the counselling authority or the college itself. Cutoff ranks are published by the official admission body after each round. Fee structure and course details are maintained by the college administration. Since cutoff and fees can change every year depending on the number of applicants, seats, category, and demand, only official information from the college or counselling authority is reliable. If the information is not easily available online, contacting the college directly for official documentation or prospectus is recommended.
Hope this helps you.

Presently i am studying 10+2 in Computer science group but i want to go mbbs degree after attending neet exam....What are all the possible ways

Prachi Kumari 21st Nov, 2025

Hello,

If you are studying 10+2 with Computer Science and you want to do MBBS, then you must have Biology in Class 12 to become eligible for NEET . Without Biology, you cannot apply for NEET.

Here are the possible ways:

  1. Take Biology as an additional subject.
You can register for Biology through your school or as a private candidate from a recognized board. After passing Biology, you become eligible for NEET.

  2. Change your stream to PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
If your school allows stream change, you can shift to PCB and complete 12th with Biology.

  3. Finish your 12th and then study Biology separately.
After completing 12th with Computer Science, you can appear for Biology next year through NIOS or your state board. Once you pass Biology, you can apply for NEET.

  4. Do Class 12 again with PCB.
This takes more time but is also an option if you want a strong base.

To appear for NEET, Biology is compulsory. So you will need to add or study Biology in one of the above ways.

Hope it helps !

  2. You are a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.

  3. The private college is recognized or accredited.
