probable cutoff, up state counselling, neet 2020, general categary, govt mbbs seats. pl explain expectedall india rank/marks, state overall rank

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 14th Nov, 2020

In 2019, under State Quota, a score of 575 secured a seat in GMC, Bahraich under General Category with an All India Rank of 14621 . That was the cut off. This was a whopping increase of cut off by 150 marks given the fact that in 2018, 479 was the cut off for General Category. Now this past. Compared to 2019, the NEET 2020 cut offs have changed considerably higher than expected. With the top score being 720 which is 19 marks greater than 2019's top score, it is difficult to predict chances. This year, an All India Rank of 14632  secured 612 marks and it is still unclear whether that Student has secured a seat because the top NEET score for UP has been 700. With all this it is difficult to predict anything. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. according to me my expected no is540in neet ug. so plz provide me the list of government colleges for mbbs seats in general category only

pdwords Student Expert 4th Oct, 2020
Hello,

With 540 Marks your overall percentile is 97.72 - 98.22 and expected rank will be 29010 - 40160, you haven't mentioned your domicile, this is essential because cut-off varies among state, for example with 540 marks you can secure a GMC seat in West Bengal belonging to General Category but the same won't happen in states like Rajasthan where last year cut-off for UR was 580 marks, and UP where cut-off was 575 marks, you can check out state wise cut-offs at https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cut-off for more details regarding this. This is purely based on previous year data, cut-offs are subjective to change every year based on multiple factors like seat matrix, marks obtained in exam, toughness level of paper, total number of candidates participating in the exam etc.You can use our NEET College Predictor to know more about admission possibilities in various colleges;https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

Hello there!

It depends on which website and under which quota you are seeing these ranks on. Generally, the opening and closing ranks given on majority of websites are All India Ranks.

i got 616 marks in meet where you get a mbbs seats

Anurag pal Student Expert 2nd Oct, 2020

Hey dear, cutoff varies every year, if you see the last year's cutoff which went very high that even students getting 500 marks were unable to get a govt. Mbbs seat. Since you are expecting above 600 marks in news, so it feels good to tell you that you can easily get a govt. mbbs college under state quota and also under AI quota too. Just stay tuned to the counselling. You can also use college predictor through this link:

how many MBBS seats available for Telugu minority in Tamil Nadu

Sakshi Khodke 2nd Oct, 2020

Hi dear,

Hope you are doing well!

Now let's go through your question.

As you will be knowing that  NEET Reservation policies and criteria are applicable for 15 % All India Quota (AIQ) i.e. minority seats as per Government of India norms. On the other hand, criteria for reservation in state quota seats are subject to the rules of the state governing body/counselling authority.

Reservation under 15%(Minority) All India Quota:

  • Scheduled Caste: 15%
  • Scheduled Tribe: 7.5%
  • OBC (Non-creamy layer): 27%

Reservation for Seats Other than All India Quota:

Under the state quota, 85% of the seats are filled through state counselling conducted separately by each state/Union Territory.

Thank You & All the best!!!

anirudha vats 1st Oct, 2020

Hey,

There is no reservation for the candidates belonging to Defence quota under All India Counseling. But few state do provide the reservation under these quota and Andhra pradesh is one among them. There is around 25 seats reserved for students falling under  defence quota. You can contact the state counseling authorities for further clarification on this topic.

Hope that helps
