I belongs to 3B category is there any reservation in karnataka state quota for mbbs seats

Kanith Sawkar 4th Oct, 2020

Hey aspirant,

For admissions at medical and dental colleges in Karnataka, there are two main types of quota for NEET candidates, 15% All India Quota and 85% state quota. In addition, there is also a private/management/NRI quota for students at private colleges for MBBS and BDS.

As far as reservation is concerned, yes, there is reservation for 3B category students. They are divided into 3BG (3B students from urban areas), 3BK (students who studied at Kannada medium schools) and 3BR (students from rural areas). KEA releases the cutoff for each category at all the medical and dental colleges every year. For more information on previous year's cutoff, check out:

i am scoring nta abhya neet test around 580 To 623 but in some tests I scored 500 to 580 but why, whats your pridiction to get a government mbbs seats in general

Amulya Jedia 23rd Aug, 2020

Hello there.

As far as test series or mock tests go, their main benefit is attained when you're reviewing them thoroughly.

As you know how unpredictable these exams can be, any question that you might think is not very important might appear on the day of exam.

For general category seat in government college, you definitely would need to be in the top 2000 rank which is not easy to procure unless you score more than 560 marks.

Well it depends a lot on the difficulty level and your relative scores, for you to get your desired college.

But as the trend follows, keep revising your mistakes and keep giving tests regularly and definitely your hard will lead you to success!

Abhyudaya Singh 25th Sep, 2020

Hello Balachandar

There is a proposal to increase the number of seats from 200 to 250 from 2020 . A Jipmer official said the institute has sent details on reservation and quota pattern followed by the institute so far to the ministry. “The ministry sought details on reservation and quota (for Puducherry students)

"Most probably, the ministry may follow the same pattern and publish details on reservation and quota in the prospectus,” said the official."

Any special quota is there for ExARMY children in MBBS seats in Government seats and what was the cut off expected in NEET at Gandhi Medical College this year

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 25th Sep, 2020

The relevant reservations that are available are:

  • CAP Army: 1%
  • Police Martyr's children: 0.25%

Now if you fall under any of these Categories, you can avail them. Regarding the cut offs, you haven't mentioned your Category. Nevertheless, in 2019, under State Quota, the cut offs for Gandhi Medical College across Categories have been as follows:

General Category: 592

SC: 484

ST: 515

OBC: 505

EWS: 566

Having said that, this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. So for a seat in this College for 2020, you should score atleast 50 marks more than those mentioned against your Category.
