one of my friend got 538 marks in neet 2021...can he get a mbbs seats in government college in west bengal?

monstwerdash 16th Nov, 2021

Hey there,

Hope you are doing well . See it's difficult to tell you the exact cut-offs this year and we can only get to know it after the counselling results are announced. But we can predict your probability of getting selected into a college depending on last year's cutoff .

You mentioned your state to be West Bengal.Last year in West Bengal the cut-off marks were 568 and closing AIR was 36907. This year too the cut-off is expected ti be somewhat similar to last year's so it seems difficult for you to get selected in a government MBBS college .But you can go for private or management quota seats and also for other courses like BDS and Ayush .For detailed information regarding the same you can visit the link given below :

Are the private MBBS seats cutoffs decided by Government Or the particular Institutions in Karnataka??

Atul Singh 12th Nov, 2021

Dear Student,

There is not a single interfere of government to deciding the cutoff of any college. This is decided by college according to the availability of seat and demand of the college. That's why it vary from year to year, there is not any fix cutoff but you can predict according to the condition of college but not the exact.

It totally depends upon the college, demand, level of paper, availability of seat.

Good Luck :)

Is it advisable to participate in AIQ for gov MBBS seats if one gets 500 marks in NEET 2021? With almost no chance to get a gov seat through the gen category. should anyone participate in AIQ?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 1st Oct, 2021

Hi

It is difficult to make prediction as cut off keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like

  • number of students that appeared in the neet examination,

  • kind of marks obtained by students  in neet ,

  • toughness level of the neet examination,

  • number of seats available etc.

Anyway,

when we go through previous year trends

>>>>>> With 500 marks,

You have extremely low chances in mbbs in government colleges in 15 % All india counselling, so if you want , you may skip participating in it.

But yes,

You can participate in all India counselling if you want to get admission in deemed universities

With 500 marks you have chances in deemed medical colleges  for mbbs through mcc all india counselling  which are listed below along with their neet 2020 , 2nd round cut off :-

----------) K.S Hegde Medical Academy, Mangaluru:- 491 marks

----------) Rural Medical College and PIMS, Loni:- 489 marks

----------) Amrita Institute of Medical Science, Kochi:- 479 marks

----------) Manipal Tata Jamshed Pur:- 468 marks

----------) SDU Medical College, Kolar:- 466 marks

And a few more

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data  but  cutoff keeps changing so to have clear picture of the complete list of colleges in which you have chances, you can go through our college predictor at

Will the MBBS seats increase in NEET 2021? Can anyone explain the reservation of EWS and OBC? Didnt it exist before? Whats new about that?

rajeevanand843 29th Sep, 2021

Hello aspirant

Overall AIQ seats will increase from the last year. As some of new colleges are getting open in some states which will contribute to the AIQ seats. State quota seats will increase only when a new Medical college is opened in your state.

Now if we talk about reservation, so earlier than this year there were no reservations for EWS and OBC category in AIQ counseling only SC/ST/PWD have reservations for them although almost in every state this reservation was  prevelent.

earlier it was like SC have 15% reservation and 7.5% reservation for ST category other than that all other remaining almost 77% seats were distributed in Gen,obc, EWS category based on their gen merit. But from now this year 27% reservation for OBC and 10% seats reservation for EWS will also be applicable. So overall Gen category seats in AIQ get reduced to 40% only.

As large population of India is OBC you might seen a cut of raise in that category due to this reservation although it's not sure. That may happen for EWS also.

so I think I have explained all the aspects of reservation. Seat availability will be clear once counselling get started.

You can use our college predictor tool for knowing personalized results of getting mbbs BDS college at your expected marks

hope I may have resolved your query.

will students have reservation for linguistic minority quota in Karnataka for government quota mbbs seats

nilangemeghna 14th Oct, 2021

Hello aspirant,

Medical and dental course aspirants from Karnataka have more reason to cheer as the state government has decided to reserve 50% of open quota seats in minority institutions for students of Karnataka domicile.......

The government had approved to increase the reservation for students of Karnataka domicile from 30% to 50% in institution seats in private, non-minority colleges.....

The remaining 50% institution seats are open quota which will be allotted based on the candidate’s All India Rank (AIR) in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Of the total seats available in private colleges, 40% seats are handed over to the government, 20% are management quota and NRI seats. The remaining 40% seats are institution seats.....

In minority institutions, 55% of seats were in the institution quota. Of these, 66% seats were reserved for candidates of the respective linguistic or religious minority. Though non-Karnataka candidates are considered for the category, priority is given to students of Karnataka domicile.
