Nearly half of students who crack Union Public Service examinations (UPSC) are engineer graduates. In 2017, among the top 20 UPSC toppers 19 were engineer graduates.There has been consistent rise in the number of engineers cracking the IAS Main exam since 2010.

see there is some bit difference in course structure of msc in computer science and mca i.e master of computer application, mca course has the syllabus of computer programming mainly, consists of different high level language application and coding methodology, candidates after passing mca may work as an programmer,
