Sir, can i get admission for M tech in civil engineering ? While my gate score is 23.11 in open category.

Jenisha grace 9th May, 2019

Hello Aspirant,

The GATE 2019 qualifying cut off for Civil Engineering is 28.2 for General category.Only if you have qualified GATE exam you become eligible for M.Tech admission in IIT's and NIT's through GATE score. Also certain top ranked private and govt institutes admit only GATE cleared students for MTech.Pursuing Mtech in a reputed college is very important. In your case you have other options.Even if you have not cleared GATE, there are opportunities for you to do MTech.Certain private colleges only consider your UG CGPA and they conduct their own entrance exams. Also you can try for various state level entrance exams and get into a top ranking college.

Hope this helps.

All the best!!!

Which ia better: CSE from Manipal Institute of Technology, or Integrated M.Tech., CSE from University of Hyderabad?

Sandipan_1560141883 Student Expert 18th Jun, 2019
Dear Aspirant,
You have interest in the field of computer science and engineering. I will give you a good suggestion.
We all know that computer science and engineering is a very good career option in our country.
But choice of good engineering College is very much important.
You have two options.Either go for bachelor of Technology in computer science and engineering in Manipal institute of technology Or go for Integrated bachelor of Technology and master of technology in Hyderabad University.
According to me, you must choose integrated bachelor of Technology and master of technology in computer science and engineering from Hyderabad University. Because it is a government funded central University. so the fees will be low compared to the private college, Manipal institute of technology. This is the first advantage. The second advantage is you can complete Bachelor of technology and master of technology in computer science and engineering both. You can gain enough knowledge about CSE.
Best of luck.
Thank you.

I HAVE GATE SCORE OF 630 IN CIVIL ENGG. 2018. SHOULD I OPT FOR NITS OR IITS FOR MTECH

Bikash Student Expert 8th May, 2019
Your GATE score is decent enough to fetch you a seat in some of the Indian Institute of Technology or National Institute of Technology campuses. But the campus you get through is highly subjective to the domain that you choose to pursue your masters.

For details regarding the past year cut offs for various IIT/NIT campuses, kindly visit the link shared below:
