tanmoymunshi1999_9606691 Student Expert 15th Jun, 2019

hey Mayankuntla,

Congrats for qualifying GATE. The eligibility for M.Tech in JNTU College of Engineering, Hyderabad is in B.Tech/BE you must have 50%marks (45% for reserved candidates). Other than this they accept GATE score. So you can apply for admission there. But if you want to do full time Mtech there you can opt for Structural Engineering(25 seats), Geotechnical Engineering(25 seats), Infrastructure Engineering(25 seats).

What are the mtech specialization for electronics and computer engineering

Shubhangi Aditi 26th Jul, 2019

Hi Satyanaryan,

Some of the specializations are:

  • VLSI System Design.
  • Communication & IT.
  • Embedded Systems.
  • Robotics.
  • Wireless Communication.
  • Computer systems & hardware.
  • Database & Information Systems.
  • Programming Language.
  • Computer networks & Distributed Systems.
  • Algorithms.
  • Artificial Intelligence.
  • Software Engineering.

VLSI System Design

This branch is ranked number one in the choice of specialization. Delivery of highly reliable data in short time can be possible with the VLSI system. Specific IC circuits work on the VLSI system. Companies such as IBM and Philips often hire M.Tech ECE students to work on various projects.

Communication & IT
This branch is directly in contact with other branches of Information Technology and Computer Engineering. ECE is the integration of Electronics and IT. eLearning technologies and products like tablets can’t be used for communication without having a basic knowledge  in both these areas.

Embedded Systems
For every electronic item like AC, TV, and computers, there is an embedded system without which a device cannot work. Programming knowledge is a must in this case. For a consumer electronic device to actually work, a system needs to be installed where it can take a decision based on the conditions provided.

Robotics
Robots are now present in most of the areas such as healthcare, military, automotive industry, etc. Artificial intelligence remains the primary focus in Robotics and continues to drive modern-day technological innovations.

Wireless Communication
In the current era of wireless systems and cell phones, this area is also among the top choices for students pursuing a Masters in ECE. The knowledge of communication subjects and programming is a must for this area.

Signal processing: Mainly concerned with mobile communicationElectronics Design & Technology: Focuses on domain covering the Network communication, Power Conversion & Drives, Instrumentation, VLSI Design, etc.Microelectronics & VLSI Design: Primarily focuses on manufacturing and study of small nano type design.Telecommunication Engineering: Combination of computer science, electrical as well as electronics

Hope this helps.

All the best.

What will be the split up (Gate score and interview score) for M.Tech admission in IITB?

Ankur Dubey Student Expert 14th Jun, 2019

Hello

As you didn't mention the branch the answer may vary.Although getting into one of the best IIT requires a very good rank.Generally rank below 150 can be consider as safe for getting into IIT Bombay. Also almost every specialization gets direct admission on the basis of gate score. So don't think of that.

I hope it helps

Regards.Best of Luck..

Sir, Ive secured a rank of 949 in VITMEE, will I be able to get M.Tech in Biotechnology at VIT Vellore campus?

Jaswanth Vemula 15th Jun, 2019

Hi Abhineet,

Based on your rank you will be called either for the first or second round of counselling. If you get a chance to go in first,  then surely you can get the branch with specialisation of your choice. But, if you are called in the second round, Your admission in CSE branch depends upon the seats left . Nevertheless, you can go for the other branches too

.

Based on the past record, you do have a fair chance to get into mtech cse branch but as you see ,the trebd does change every time and year.

Is placements good in IIT Kharagpur for communication stream(Mtech)

Jaswanth Vemula 15th Jun, 2019

Hello ManojKumar Binkena,

Well, I can answer this question as I recently attended the interview of M.Tech in Instrumentation and Signal Processing at IITKGP. This specialization comes under Electrical Engineering department where total 12 seats are there for EE/IN people under Major degree and 6 seats for EC people under Minor degree. Before going to IITKGP for interview, I consulted to one of my seniors regarding the placement scenario of this specialization. A person with good coding background can do pretty well in this specialization as knowledge of Python and Matlab is quite essential to handle the core subjects of signal processing and these people normally get placed as DSP engineers in companies like Qualcomm, TI, Cisco etc with an average package of 15 LPA. Anyhow, the one who is not quite comfortable with programming can also get placed in automation companies which offer 12 LPA on an average as core subjects for instrumentation profile are also there. Students from this branch also get placed in some VLSI companies as they have the freedom to choose subjects on the basis of their interest and these companies usually offer 17–19 LPA. In that conversation, I also get to know that last year three people of this branch under Major degree got placed in VLSI companies by choosing electives wisely. So, In my opinion IITKGP Instrumentation and Signal Processing specialization is worth opting...

P.S.-The only constraint with the people opting this branch is the “Non coding background” which can often be seen in EE/IN people who are interested in Core profile of their branch from the very beginning.

Is an integrated mtech a beneficiary one?

Siddhant Student Expert 4th Jul, 2019

Dear aspirant ,

The benefits for doing integrated mtech are :

1) You end up doing master's with one extra year to spare , as you may know master's is of 2 years , so it will save that 1 year for you .

2)In your final year , you get a stipend of about Rs.10,000 per month , in order to apply for stipend you have to clear GATE exam though.

3)The major advantage will be during your placements , as the company will see you as an individual who has not only learned the basics but also the advanced i.e the core subjects of the course. You will be open to most of the core companies.

4) Your salary package will be a little higher than the individuals who had applied for only bachelor's program.

NOTE : It will be only beneficiary for you if you want to make your career in research and development . If you have the desire and passion in this field , then only you should apply otherwise it makes no sense for you to put your precious  time and money for this course.
