 My post is basically focusing on the EC people who has Gate rank in  between AIR 500 to AIR 2000.... which is really very confusing... I went  through the same experience in GATE 2013 (got AIR 800,EC)...

 No. of students- 18

 Highest package- 13.2 lpa
 Lowest package- about 4 lpa

 >> NIT Trichi: (Communication)
 No. of students- 16
 No. of students Placed- 12
 Highest package- 11 lpa
 Lowest package- about 4 lpa

 >> NIT Warangal: (VLSI)
 No. of students- 16
 No. of students Placed- 10 (Approx)
 Highest package- 12 lpa
 Lowest package- 6.2 lpa

 >>NIT Warangal: (Communication)

 I don't hav exact statistics.
 Its placements are comparable to above NIT's in Communication but its VLSI has 100% placement
 But you could get vlsi in nit surathkal only if your AIR is under 600 OR Try your luck in Spot Round !!!

 >> DCE (VLSI):
 No. of students- 20
 No. of students Placed- 12 (Approx)
 Highest package- 12.5 lpa (broadcom)
 Lowest package- about 4 lpa
 Many out of 12 placed students have got in Teaching jobs....in "Lovely university" , "Galgotia" etc..
 If u want to prepare for IES.... then this is the college u should look  for...as here, u'll get enough time for self-preparation .. 

>> IIIT Hyderabad (VLSI) :
 Awsumm faculty. As far as this is concerned for EC students  ONLY.....(placement wise off-course) ......what i hav found out from  IIIT H's vlsi students that its placements are not as good as people  think it is...!!!

 >> IIIT Bangalore:
    Awsumm  faculty(just look at the faculty qualifications from website)...good  placements: 
For 2015 batch. Min. Package is 6.5 lpa , Max Package: 23 lpa , avg. package: 11.5 lpa (specially in year 2014 the placements were not as good as last  year...may be because of bad market conditions but before that  placements has been excellent almost 100%. Still there are 100% placement in 2014 batch at last). The only problem with iiit b  is -- Fees is high..and EC students MUST KNOW CODING or u cannot  survive here (as u will get degree in Information Technology only ).
 Plzz DON't come here for VLSI...its not that good here in terms of placement,.. 

 >> IIT Kanpur: (IME Branch)
    Good placements, almost everyone gets 6 lpa placements from there.

>> IIT Mumbai: (IEOR)
    Better than IIT K IME in terms of placements....it is more or less the same branch as IME of IITK.

 >> NIETE Mumbai-- it is best among all the colleges/branch above  in terms of placements....provided u r interested in Management.. 

 I wud rank above colleges (FOR EC) as: (placement wise, in my opinion)
 Old IIT's Core Branches are at the top (IITB, IITM,IIT Kragpur, IITK)
 Other non-new IIT core branches (like IIT G, IIT R etc)
 NITIE   ---- (rank below 1500 should apply)
 IIT Mumbai(IEOR) = IIIT B = IIIT H  
 IIT K(IME) = NIT W = NIT T = NIT Surathkal 
 DCE 
 All above colleges are good... just don't compare it with IIT's core branches...

 Now.....CS STUDENTS....i suppose you have good placements in all of the  above mentioned colleges....FOR CS STUDENTS ONLY....i would suggest  rankings as:
 1. IIIT H
 2. IIIT B = NIT Trichi = NIT Warangal = NIT Surathkal
 3. DCE = NSIT=BITS pilani
 4. Lower NIT's

I would like to you inform you that GATE will be the only and the best option for you because it does not demand any specific criteria as per percentages is concerned as well as their is no provision for year back in the GATE exam. So you should attempt this exam with utmost hardwork and get your life back ontrack.

Placements : My batch is the first batch of the college. Hence, there has not been any placement for batches before us. Due to the reasons mentioned above, there is no data about engineering placements of the previous or current batch, though the college had time and assured of full placement assistance. But as said before nothing can be said with concrete data.

Infrastructure : The college is located in a building of 8 stories situated on the outskirts of the Pune city. The landscape is awesome and gives a positive vibe. The campus is being equipped with adequate laboratory facilities. Wi-Fi is available in the building. The cafeteria is available in the building, and no physical library is present, but access is granted to IIT Kharagpur based national digital library program for all books.

Faculty : Courses are based on an innovative outreach and are great when compared to the current market scenario. The college provides full liberty to the faculty for adopting latest syllabus and including important latest content in the curriculum. The faculty is extremely knowledgeable and are experts in their relevant fields

Hello aspirant, congratulations you would surely get a seat through TANCET with this score. Well , in CEG with this rank is quite hard to predict. You do have chances of getting CEG with reservation . Keep a track of merit lists relaesed . Other college which you would get are good as well. Moreover if you study deligently, you would end up doing a good job.
