I have got seat in sastra university, tanjavur in BTech mechanical.I want a suggestion from u that is , Sastra mechanical or local eamcet CLGs cse

gopi 16th Jul, 2025

Hello naveen kumar,

Deciding between SASTRA University (Mechanical) and a local EAMCET college (CSE) will mainly come down to your long term career goals and reputation of the college you will be attending.

  • If you want to focus on coding, have aspirations for IT jobs, or are interested in tech start ups - then a CSE from a decent local EAMCET college will probably provide you with more job opportunities, internships, and placements in the software sector.
  • If you like the reputation of SASTRA, find it to have a superior overall reputation in general, have more infrastructures (libraries, sports, etc.), and are fine with committing to a Mechanical Engineering program but want to pursue a career in core jobs, public sector jobs and or interdisciplinary job areas so it will still open doors and you could also self-train in the software or information space if you desired.

JEE rank required for NIT Kurukshetra Mechanical?

gopi 16th Jul, 2025

Hello Srinidhi,

In order to acquire Mechanical Engineering at NIT Kurukshetra, generally the required JEE Main rank will be in the range of:

  • Home State Quota (Haryana): Up to 40,000 (general category)
  • Other State Quota: Up to 20,000-25,000 (general category)

The cutoffs that I have provided above change from year to year, as well as category and gender. For reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), the ranks are much more relaxed.

my rank in kcet 1,65,000 can I get seat in pesce mandya for mechanical engineering...

OISHEE BANERJEE 12th Jul, 2025

With a KCET rank of 1,65,000, getting Mechanical Engineering at PES College of Engineering, Mandya is very unlikely in the earlier rounds. In recent years, the cutoff for Mechanical has usually closed around 1,30,000 to 1,40,000 in Round 1, and in some cases extended beyond 1,60,000 in Round 2 or casual vacancy rounds, depending on the category and seat availability.

If you're from a reserved category, you might still have a chance in later rounds. Otherwise, the chances are slim. You can wait for further rounds or explore other colleges where the closing rank for Mechanical is higher.

Good Morning. Is Mechanical in IIITDM, Kancheepuram or Chemical engineering from NIT, Trichy better?

gopi 10th Jul, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

Both Mechanical Engineering in IIITDM Kancheepuram and Chemical Engineering in NIT Trichy have their own strengths and weaknesses; they are both good options (yes, I know this is a cliché). Which is the better choice for you to take will ultimately depend on your interests and future ambitions.

You should take Mechanical in IIITDM Kancheepuram if:

  1. You are specifically interested in design, manufacturing, robotics or mechatronics, etc.
  2. You prefer a design-based curriculum that also allows for some of your own interdisciplinary work from parallel fields such as electronics and computer science.
  3. You plan on doing higher studies in mechanical/design-related fields or, you are going for a role in technology where you want to apply skill learning across multiple domains.

You should take Chemical in NIT Trichy if:

  1. You are really interested in core chemical processes, research, or looking for a career in critical industries like oil, gas, pharmacy, materials.
  2. You think NIT Trichy may have better connections from the alumni network, better placements or recruitment, or possibly better facilities and building resources.
  3. You seek public sector jobs, core chemical R & D jobs, or want to study abroad before you apply for your first job in core chemical disciplines.

I got 85.4824 percentile in jee mains. Can i get SOE tezpur mechanical or civil branch through North East quota ( category : EWS)

Srivalli Gottumukkala 7th Jul, 2025

With an 85.4824 percentile in JEE Main and eligibility under the North East quota (EWS category), you have a decent chance of getting into SOE Tezpur's Mechanical or Civil Engineering branches, though it may depend on the specific round and seat availability.

Here’s what the recent cutoff trends suggest:

Mechanical Engineering:

2024 Closing Rank (General category, All India quota): Around 185140 for North East quota, the cutoff tends to be more relaxed, especially for reserved categories like EWS

Civil Engineering :

2024 Closing Rank (General category, All India quota): Around 209876 again, NE quota + EWS reservation could work in your favor

Since your percentile roughly translates to a rank near 140,000–160,000, you're within striking range, especially for Civil Engineering. Mechanical might be slightly tighter, but still possible depending on the round.
All The Best!

Top 10 mechanical engineering colleges in ap and cut off with colleges

Aryan 8th Jul, 2025

Hi dear candidate,

There are multiple mechanical engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh like Andhra University (Vizag), Sri Venkateshwara University (Tirupati), JNTU (Anantapur). The usual cut off trend for these colleges is between 1,000 to 4,000.

Factors like student category or branch selected may also affect your rank as reserved categories may avail slight benefits and branches like CSE, AI/ ML are very competitive.

For complete list of top colleges kindly refer to our official wesbite:
