Are CSE,IT and ECE better than Mechanical at BIT Sindri ?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 19th Oct, 2021

See Mechanical Engineering is one of the most crucial fields but from a job and salary perspective, Mechanical Engineers don't get paid that good as compared to that of the other branches such as CSE IT or ECE. Also CSE and IT have more companies for recruitment and the pay is relatively better. As result, more student are leaning towards CSE IT and ECE. Also there are lag in jobs in the core sector for ME as a result it better to go for a field which will have a core job and CSE IT ECE are those fields. So if you wish to take then its recommended to go for CSE IT or ECE.

iit mandi cse or iit roorkee mechanical engineering?

divya 19th Oct, 2021

Hello,

Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference list which will comprise of all these factors:

  • Overall ranking
  • Infrastructure
  • Location/accessibility
  • Branch that you are been offered(Core/interdisciplinary)
  • Placement opportunities
  • Industry Exposure

The preference order you should consider is:

  1. IIT Mandi CSE
  2. IIT Roorkee Mechanical
  • IIT Roorkee should be choosen undoubtedly above IIT mandi because of the huge reputation the college holds.
  • IIT Roorkee has also launched new school of data science and artificial intelligence.
  • It has also entered QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022 with other IITs and IISc.

I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet more reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.

Good luck, hope it helps!!

AIR rank 2041(general category). Applied at IIT Mumbai for Mechanical, aerospace. What are chances of getting an allocation.

Anurag Khanna 19th Oct, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See the cut-offs keep changing every year and this year also we saw a slight dip in the cut-offs but counselling is yet to be conducted so it would be bit difficult to provide you the exact chances of seat allotment in any particular college on the basis of your JEE-Advance rank but yes if we consider the previous year's data and align it with overall cut-offs of this year then we can help you with expected chances of allotment on such JEE-Advance rank.

So according to the category and rank mentioned by you in the question you have good chances of getting IIT Bombay with Aerospace Branch but low chances for Mechanical branch as per the data analysis of previous years cut-off.

As we go through previous year's cut-off then it shows that last year the closing rank for Aerospace branch in IIT Bombay was 2070 for General category Male and for Mechanical branch it was 1129.

You can check out previous year's cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of previous years cut-off data and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use JEE-Advance College Predictor:-

which is best in engineering mechanical or ECE

Subhrajit Mukherjee 18th Oct, 2021

See both Mechanical Engineering and ECE are the fields which have a lot of applications in day to day life. But the sad part is when ever you will see the placements then you will find the majority of the Mechanical jobs are very low paying and apart from that most student will not get a job in there core field. As a result if you go for Mechanical then the maximum possibility is that you will end with a non core job. So if you wish to go for a field which you have the job of the field itself then go for ECE. The possibility of getting a core job in ECE is much better than that of Mechanical.

jecrc college is good for mechanical branch

aswathypadinjakkara 18th Oct, 2021

Hi

JECRC College

The placement cell is good in the college. The highest salary package offered in campus placements is 10 LPA, while the average salary package offered is about 2.5 LPA-3 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is about 2.5 LPA. For the mechanical engineering branch, L&T, Tata Motors etc are the top recruiters. Also students get internship opportunities in companies. The college provides all the necessary facilities . And the infrastructural facilities are good. Overall its a good college.

IS GIT Jaipur cse or MBM jodhpur Electronics and computers?

Rituparna Priyadarshini 18th Oct, 2021

Hello.

If you want to pursue your education in Jaipur then GIT Jaipur is a good option and you can go for CSE in that college. But before you make a decision please be thorough on the sort of placements and opportunities available there. On the other hand, if you opt for Electronics and Computers ,then you'll be studying both the courses. It'll be an extra help as you'll be able to choose a career path from both the streams. There is a lot of scope in this particular branch and you also get to learn embedded which is great. Also, MBM is a good college and I think it. An provide you with opportunities.
