Hello STudent
After completing your diploma in mechanical engineering you can take the lateral entry in BTech in mechanical engineering and completing your BTech or BE in mechanical Engineering can go for MTech in mechanical engineering mekatronics, robotics, power plant engineering, CAD cam training, CCN mechanical designing, can do the masters in environmental engineering, thermodynamics, design engineering you can do MS specialising the above-mentioned courses. Which will give give you a wide opening for teacher courses study or in placement.

Hi Nirupama,
Last year the closing rank of mechanical engineering branch for MIT Karnataka, was 18581 in 8th round of counselling.
By analysing previous years cutoff if we prepare a expected Marks vs Rank for this year(2021), then this is how it will look like.
Marks Rank 185+ 1147
175-185 2234
170-175 3042
165-170 3653
160+ 5695
155+ 10978
150+ 18581
130+ 40303
By looking at the rank you have mentioned there are some chances that you will be getting mechanical engineering in main campus. Cutoff may go and down as it depends on various factors like difficulty level of paper, total number of candidates who appeared in the exam in a particular year, total number of seats, etc.
I'll suggest you not to lose hope and keep proceeding in whatever you are doing.
You can check more about cutoff of previous years and analyse by going through the link below.

I hope it clears your doubt.
All the best!
Hello aspirant, the answer for your question is yes and no. Admission criteria through lateral entry into B. Tech courses after diploma is highly dependent on the university in which you want to apply . There are some universities that ask you to give a test and accordingly you can choose a branch other than the one in diploma. There are also many colleges that do not allow change of branch after diploma. So you need to go to the website of the university in which you want to apply and check if they allow branch change from CSE to mechanical after admission through diploma or not.
hello vijaygovindhi526
I hope you are doing good . I would like to aware you mba is generally done by people who experience and interest in Information technology ,Logistics , rural , human resources, finance, etc. I would advise you if you are working it sector or want to change your field into HR , RURAL or finance then only go for masters in business administration othwerwise their wont be any profit if you are currently working as mechanical engineer. However, management could be the better option
Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future

It is not possible to get admission at VIT, Vellore in Mechanical (Specialisation in Automotive Engineering) branch with 14460th rank in VITEEE exam in 1st category. You can try till the last counseling round. Hello,
Your rank is expected to be under 15000 with the given score. The actual rank may vary depending on the total number of candidates appeared, highest score, lowest score, tie breakers and other such factors. The previous year cut off in round 3 of counselling for admission to Electrical Engineering was 8376 and for Mechanical Engineering it was 14187 to get admission in to Manipal institute of Technology, Manipal, So by this you have decent chances of getting seat in Mechanical Engineering and slim chances of getting seat in Electrical Engineering in MIT, Manipal. It should be noted that the cut off changes every year depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

Greetings of the day mate
Firstly, I would like to congratulate you on successful completion of your MET exam. It's really hard to predict rank and cut-off as it depends on the number of students attempting, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available, etc. Based on the previous year cut-off's your rank must be in the range of 10,000-12,000. This is a rough calculation and can vary accordingly.
With this rank you may be able to secure a Mechanical seat but not EEE seat in thier main campus Manipal. This is entirely based on previous year cut-off's. Just participate in their counselling process and as it has many rounds, the chances of securing a seat increases too.
You can have a look at the cut-off trends from the above link
Hope this helps!!
Wishing you luck for the counselling process
