Mechanical Engineering
Hello student,
With a 60 percentile in PCM CET and belonging to the OBC category, getting into top mechanical engineering colleges in Pune, Nagpur, or Mumbai might be challenging. However, you can still consider some options:
Pune:
Nagpur:
Mumbai:
If these options don't work, you can explore colleges in other cities like Nashik, Kolhapur, or Aurangabad, where the competition might be slightly lower. If you have a valid JEE Mains score then,
I would recommend you to use JEE college predictor tool by Careers360 to get the list of possible colleges you can get with your score.
Here is the link to the tool:

hello aspirant
if u want to persue mechanical eng.. then u should consider tier 2 iit because opting for branch chanche option is avialable in very few iits and also it is very difficult to get your branch change in iit because it require quite high cgpa.
Hi there,
Hope you are doing fine.
Yes you are certainly eligible to get admission in the public sector companies by giving the gate examination in the mechanical engineering.
You need to secure a good rank to get admission in the top mtech colleges through the gate and even getting a job in the top psus.
You can get more details regarding the marks required and the procedure required to secure the job in public sector companies. Further you can contact any senior or expert students and get an idea about the same and the tips required to crack the examination with a good score.
Hope this resolves your query.
The cutoff for mechanical engineering in JEE Main for the SC category varies each year depending on several factors, including:
To get an accurate idea of the cutoff for your specific year, it's best to refer to the official JEE Main results and counseling information.
However, based on past trends, the cutoff for mechanical engineering in the SC category is generally lower than the general category. If you have a valid JEE Mains score and you are looking for colleges at your score then,
With 61 marks in TS PGECET, predicting your exact rank can be challenging without the precise ranking formula and considering the overall competition and number of candidates. However, based on previous year data and general trends a score of 61 often places you in a competitive position likely within the top 5000 to 10000 ranks but this can vary.
For Mechanical Engineering, this rank might still provide opportunities for admission into various government and private engineering colleges in Telangana. Many institutions offer specializations and courses related to mechanical engineering, including those in emerging fields and advanced studies.
To get specific details regarding it, you can visit the official website of the ts pgecet and then check the required details.
Congratulations on getting 488 rank in the ts ecet examination.
With a rank of 488 in the TS ECET you have a strong chance of securing a seat in the mechanical engineering branch at Kakatiya University .
Generally having a rank of 488 is quite competitive and Kakatiya University being a prominent institution in Telangana is likely to have seats available for candidates with this rank especially in branches like mechanical engineering.
However the exact availability of seats can depend on the number of applicants and the specific cutoff for the mechanical engineering program for the current year.
To get a more precise details related to it, you can contact the admission office and know about your queries.
Hy,
When comparing different IITs and their respective programs, it's essential to consider factors such as placement statistics, career opportunities, faculty, research facilities, and overall reputation.
If you value the prestige and established placement record of a more established IIT, IIT Kanpur would be a strong choice for mechanical or chemical engineering. If you're interested in emerging fields with strong placement potential and can leverage the growing reputation of newer IITs, Mathematics and Computing at IIT Mandi, Ropar, or Patna is also an excellent option.
Hello there,
Choosing between IIT Bombay Chemical Engineering and IIT Madras Mechanical Engineering depends on your interests and career goals:
IIT Bombay Chemical Engineering : Known for its strong research facilities and industry connections in the chemical sector. If you’re interested in chemical processes, materials science, or related fields, this could be a great fit.
IIT Madras Mechanical Engineering : Renowned for its robust mechanical engineering curriculum, research opportunities, and diverse applications in industries like automotive, aerospace, and manufacturing. If you have a keen interest in mechanical systems and design, this might suit you better.
Both are prestigious programs, but IIT Madras Mechanical Engineering generally has broader applications and may offer more diverse career opportunities.
Hello Aspirant
There are possibilities for pursuing an M.Tech in AI/ML or Computer Science after a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering through PGCET, but eligibility can vary depending on the specific PGCET exam and the universities you're applying to. Here's a breakdown:
Eligibility for M.Tech:
PGCET Exam:
Check the specific PGCET exam you're planning to take (e.g., Karnataka PGCET) and understand their paper structure and eligibility criteria for M.Tech programs.
Explore M.Tech programs in AI/ML or CS offered by universities you're interested in. Look for their eligibility criteria regarding the qualifying B.Tech degree and any additional requirements for students from non-CS backgrounds.
If the information online is unclear, don't hesitate to contact the admissions office of the universities directly. They can clarify their eligibility criteria for your specific situation.
Hope this helps
