How can I apply ms university BE Mechanical engineering course

G PAVAN KUMAR 20th Sep, 2024

Applicants to mechanical engineer ing master's programs should already have an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field from an accredited university. If you don't, some programs recommend or require taking prerequisites in math, natural sciences, and engineering before applying. Depending on the course, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda's admissions procedure is either merit-or entrance-based. Candidates are chosen based on their performance in the university's entrance exam, which consists of a written examination, a practical test, and a personal Interview Those wishing to study Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering at a university should in general, be in possession of a school-leaving certificate with matriculation exemption with above average marks in mathematics and physical science at higher grade. Apart from these job roles, mechanical engineering graduates can also work in automobile, aerospace, power generation, construction, and many more industries. Can I persue MS in Computer science from abroad even I have done Btech in Mechancial Engineering in India

Nitin Kumar 4th Jun, 2024

Yes, you can pursue an MS in Computer Science from abroad even with a BTech in Mechanical Engineering from India. While a CS undergrad is ideal, universities value well-rounded students with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, which mechanical engineering cultivates. Highlight any CS or programming courses you took during your BTech. If your background is light, consider taking online courses or MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) in CS fundamentals to demonstrate your interest and ability.

Some universities offer MS in CS programs with bridges or preparatory courses for students from non-CS backgrounds. Look for programs that acknowledge the value of your engineering background while providing a foundation in CS.

I hope it helps!

Can I get mechanical engineering with 127000 rank in VIT AP

kumardurgesh1802 20th Oct, 2024

Hello there,

With a VIT AP rank of 127,000, getting admission to the Mechanical Engineering program may be challenging, as VIT AP tends to have competitive cutoffs for engineering branches. However, here are a few points to consider:

1. Check Previous Year Cutoffs:

  • Look at the cutoff trends for Mechanical Engineering at VIT AP from previous years. This will help you understand if your rank falls within the range for admission.

    2. Consider Other Branches:

  • If you’re flexible, consider applying for other branches or programs at VIT AP, as they might have lower cutoffs than Mechanical Engineering.

    3. Counseling Process:

  • Participate in the counseling process and make sure to list VIT AP as one of your preferences. Being proactive in the admission process is crucial.

    4. Other Options:

  • Explore other universities or colleges that offer Mechanical Engineering with potentially lower cutoffs.

While it may be a competitive situation, staying informed and exploring all options will be key.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Hello Rajesh,

With a branch rank of 2119 in Mechanical Engineering in AP ECET 2024, you may have a chance of securing a seat at G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College in Kurnool, but it will largely depend on the cutoff for that year, your category, and seat availability.

Typically, G. Pulla Reddy Engineering College has relatively competitive cutoffs, especially in core branches like Mechanical. If your rank aligns closely with the previous year's cutoffs or falls within the expected cutoff range, your chances are higher.

what should I choose Electronic and communication branch in NIT Hamirpur or Mechanical/Civil in IIT Jammu

kumardurgesh1802 16th Sep, 2024

Hello student,

Choosing between Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) at NIT Hamirpur and Mechanical/Civil Engineering at IIT Jammu depends on several factors, including your interests, career goals, and the specific strengths of each institution. Here's a breakdown to help you decide:

1. Interest in the Branch:

  • ECE at NIT Hamirpur: If you're more interested in electronics, communication systems, VLSI design, and telecommunications, ECE is a highly versatile field with opportunities in both hardware and software industries.

  • Mechanical/Civil at IIT Jammu: Mechanical and Civil Engineering are more traditional branches with applications in industries like manufacturing, construction, automotive, and infrastructure development. These branches can offer steady career paths in core sectors but may not have the same tech-industry growth as ECE.

    2. Institution Reputation:

  • NIT Hamirpur: NITs are well-established, and NIT Hamirpur has a solid reputation, particularly for its engineering programs, including ECE.

  • IIT Jammu: Although newer, IIT Jammu carries the "IIT" brand , which is prestigious and can open doors to high-quality academic and career opportunities, even in its early stages.

    3. Future Career Opportunities:

  • ECE (NIT Hamirpur): ECE graduates have diverse career options in IT , telecom , electronics , semiconductors , and networking . The field is growing rapidly due to advancements in technologies like 5G, IoT, and AI.

  • Mechanical/Civil (IIT Jammu): Mechanical and Civil engineers have good opportunities in core industries , government sectors , and infrastructure projects . However, placements may be more stable but not as fast-growing as tech-related fields like ECE.

    4. Placements and Industry Demand:

  • NIT Hamirpur (ECE): ECE typically has good placement rates, often with job offers from tech companies and startups in India and abroad.

  • IIT Jammu (Mech/Civil): While IITs usually have strong placements, newer IITs like IIT Jammu are still building their networks and reputation. Mechanical and Civil branches may see fewer tech company placements but stable offers in core sectors.

    5. Long-term Growth:

  • ECE at NIT Hamirpur: Offers flexibility to move into tech-related industries or even higher studies (MS/MTech) in emerging fields like AI , robotics , or VLSI design .

  • Mech/Civil at IIT Jammu: Provides solid foundations for careers in traditional sectors or higher studies in specialized engineering fields (e.g., energy , infrastructure development ).

    Recommendation:

  • If you're inclined toward technology, innovation, and flexibility in career paths , ECE at NIT Hamirpur may be a better choice.

  • If you're interested in core engineering sectors and value the IIT brand , Mechanical or Civil at IIT Jammu offers you the prestige of IIT and potential growth in core industries.

    Final Tip:

Choose the branch that aligns more with your personal interests and career aspirations, as that will motivate you to excel in the long term.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

I have 1 backlog in diploma mechanical engineering in 5th semister and i qualifed for ap ecet exam and Now i am eligible for ap ecet counselling or not... please give fast reply

Nitin Kumar 7th Jun, 2024

It is unlikely you'll be eligible for AP ECET counselling with a current backlog in your diploma.

Most sources mention that candidates must possess a Diploma in Engineering and Technology from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh (or a recognized AICTE institution) with a minimum percentage (usually 40-45%) to be eligible for AP ECET counselling.Since you have a backlog, you likely haven't received your diploma certificate yet. This might make you ineligible for counselling at this stage.

If you clear your backlog and obtain your diploma certificate before counselling begins (usually July 2024 for AP ECET), you might be eligible to participate.

How much free for mechanical engineering

Akansha Sharma 9th Apr, 2025

The fee for Mechanical Engineering depends on the college type. In government colleges, the fee is low, around Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 20,000 per year. In private colleges, it is usually between Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 per year. But if you belong to a reservation category like SC, ST, or BC and your family income is within the limit (usually below Rs. 2 lakhs), you may get full fee reimbursement from the government. So, your education can be almost free in that case. Always check the college’s fee structure before applying.
