Yes, of course you can do mechanical engineering in mtech after completing your btech. M. Tech in mechanical eengineering  is a PG course which deals with the study of mechanics, Kinematics, Statics,  Thermodynamics used in construction...etc  development IN MACHINES AND TOOLS.
