see the admission in any particular branch is based on gate score on that branch only, for mtech in mechanical engineering you need to apply gate exam from mechanical engineering. based on gate XE score admission might not possible in iits or nits. however you may apply for streams

Yes, you are eligible for both the branches. In PDPU, M.Tech in Petroleum Engineering is better. It is one of the top 3 branches in that institute. Placements are good. Companies like ONGC, Reliance Petchem Marketing, Gujarat Gas, Reliance E&P, etc have visited in the previous years.

Hello Aspirant,

IITs and IISC Bangalore takes admission through JEE Advanced. A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced only when he/she has qualified JEE Main.

What you need to know is that IITs offers B.Tech course however IISC Bangalore does not offers B.Tech instead it offers B.Sc. It does offers M.Tech
