does BITS allow mtech in cse to a graduate with btech in mechanical with a valid gate score in cse?

Hello.
Yes you definitely can take admission in BITS for MTech in CSE after BTech in mechanical engineering but remember your gate score card must be of CSE stream , if you are going with mechanical GATE score then it is not possible to take admission for another branch in MTech, now you also can take admission in BITS for MTech through BITS HD exam.
Best of luck.

Thanks a lot pal. My gate score is 706 in CSE but I am not eligible to apply in any good University. If BITS allow it then it's a great news :)
Sorry to bother you again but to be specific I have btech in automotive design engineering which is equivalent to mechanical engineering.

Hello.
With your mentioned score you have good chances to clear boundary cutoff because as per the previous year records if your GATE score is about 680 then your chances would be good so still with your 700+ score you can expect your eligibility even with variations also, now if it is about your BTech branch so it doesn't matter that what branch you had but your GATE score card must be in same stream in which you are going to take admission in MTech.

Today I have received the offer letter from IIITB as well but in the letter they have mentioned
'This offer of admission to IIIT-B M.Tech Programme is subject to the following conditions:
You meet all the eligibility conditions as mentioned in the call for admissions.
That you shall submit the original marks memos in respect of all semesters and degree certificates for
verification and return
That you shall arrange to submit valid GATE score card from the competent authority.
That all information stated (including marks obtained, etc.) in the online application form is verified to
be true by IIITB against relevant original documents'
Do you have any idea if they will consider?

Update: My application has been rejected for the same reason I enquired about BITS. Offer letter is valid only if eligibility is met. In BITS eligibility also btech in cse is required (mentioned in brochure) can you please confirm if any student in recent past from non cse got admitted to the cse program
