As per your rank in AEEE it is difficult to get mechanical engg in coimbatore campus. For last year open quota the closing rank for mechanical engg is 3217 respectively. If you belong to same state then you may get under state category because last year state rank

Both the colleges are good for studying engineering but at present comparitively CSE has more scope and placement, even mechanical to has bt comparitively CSE students get job earlier.
