First priority should be given to where your interest lies. If you feel computer and its working fascinates you, then you should be choosing Computer Science engineering. But if you are more inclined towards machines, then you should be choosing mechanical engineering.
Depending upon today's scenario, computer science
The closing rank of 2018 for ECE under state quota was 15675 and for other other states it was 6202
For Mechanical Engineering it was 7694 for state quota and 5516 for other states.
For EEE the closing rank for home state candidates was 10285 and for other states

Usually the cut off for different colleges are high for ME branch.In that case if you are from GEN/OBC you will not get even NITs or IIITs or GFTIs .
But if you belong to SC/ST then you have chances that you might get NIT /IIITs and GFTIs
