Yes, you can pursue a bachelors degree in mathematics on the fulfilment of eligibility criteria as specified by the college you want to take admission in. But then you need to drop engineering because you can not pursue two regular degree courses at the same time.

Yes definitely all Diploma students can take admission in Btech degree course and are guven lateral entry directly into second year engineering based on aggregate diploma marks or through entrance exam.
Eligibility criteria is different although for all Colleges.
Highest package offered in Mechanical engineering stream till date is 16lpa in INR by Maruti Suzuki.
Average package is 4lpa woth 80%placements on average past 3years.
Companies visiting are Daikin, Hero, Hinda, Jindal Steel, Hitachi.
Highest International package was 19lpa INR in Dubai Location by Daikin.
You can apply for BA programme but each college has different procedure & eligibility so if you specify the particular college in which you want to take the admission then i can help you better.

Yes definitely you can give gate exam under mechanical after production engineering. And if you score good rank under gate exam under mechanical than your chances of getting admission in reputated colleges and iits will increase.
